MIA

Since Colt is at the Mavs game with David tonight (in floor seats might I add!), I figured I would do a tiny little post before I call it a night! We have been so busy (and I've just been tired) that I haven't had the time or motivation to update our little blog on what's been going on in life. I do have MANY drafts saved as reminders to myself on things that I need to get on here!

The biggest thing that's happened lately is that Match Day was last Friday, and we found out that we are definitely moving to Temple, TX for at least the next 3 years! Colt matched at his #1 choice, and we will be moving at the beginning of June for him to start his residency in Emergency Medicine. We are very excited! Colt also had his last day of medical school last week as well. He is officially done even though he doesn't have his formal graduation until May 30th! He also found out yesterday via email that he was awarded the TCEP (Texas College of Emergency Physicians) Oustanding Medical Student Award. This is an annual award that goes to one medical student graduating from each of the Texas medical schools that demonstrates excellence in Emergency Medicine. There are only 8 or 9 medical schools in Texas. Colt was the one selected from UT-Southwestern. I think he has about 20 in his class that chose to go into Emergency Medicine. He got a call from one of the directors at UTSW today telling him about it personally and apologizing that he found out by email. From the sounds of it, it's kind of a big deal! It's definitely an honor that he got selected, and he will be flying to Galveston on April 12th to be recognized. That's the weekend of the tax deadline so unfortunately I can't go, but I'm super proud of him!
There are lots more updates to come in hopefully the near future on what's been going on with us in the last couple of months.
