May Soccer

Here are the highlights of Kinley doing Soccer Shots in May.
Kinley always insisted that she have a yellow ring to stand in. Her and Lucy would argue over it so we quickly realized that we needed to put two yellow rings side by side so that they both could have one.

April Soccer

Here's a couple videos of our girl playing soccer in April.

 April 5th
She likes to celebrate and I'm pretty sure one of her favorite parts of soccer was the cheer at the end of practice. We'll see if she ends up being a soccer player or cheerleader?!

I can't get over how much taller and older acting she's gotten since these videos.

Soccer Shots Spring 2018

We started the spring season of Soccer Shots on March 29th. Kinley and her friend, Lucy, both played. Kinley loves soccer.  This fall, Kinley could've played TSA soccer. I decided to not do it because they have a practice once a week and a game every Saturday. I thought it was too much at her age, and I assumed we would have the opportunity to just do Soccer Shots again. However, they didn't have Soccer Shots this fall so we missed out on soccer completely. I'm sure we'll be doing soccer again soon though!

Most days at soccer, Kinley and Lucy would fight over who was going to stand in the yellow ring. Colt caught on and would get them matching rings to stand in right next to each other.
Cutler was still tiny. He tagged along to cheer his sister on.
Soccer was at Pollard Park this season. Afterwards, Kinley always thought we had to have playground time.
Here's a video of Kinley during her first day of spring soccer.

Soccer Shots - October 2017

Some soccer fun from October... by the end of the fall season, it was pretty much just her and two other kids left! She loved doing the "Soccer Shots" cheer and getting stamps at the end of practice.

Soccer Shots in September

We did Soccer Shots for the second time this spring. Kinley loved it just as much the second time around as she did the first. These are some pictures from her first round of Soccer Shots last fall. She actually just saw all of these pictures and threw a fit because she isn't standing in a yellow circle, which is now her favorite color. This spring at Soccer Shots, she had to stand in a yellow circle every time. She may have gotten in a fight with Lucy a few times over who got to stand in the yellow circle! We started putting two yellow circles side by side to prevent the issue. She literally looked forward to soccer last fall and this spring. I'm pretty sure she was the most excited kid out there both seasons!

Here's a video from that day of her kicking the cones over. She might use her hands some to line the ball up with the cone. She would always get excited after she kicked a cone over and run off saying, "I did it!"

Action shots... for a 2 year old, she was actually pretty good, especially at running while dribbling!
Here's a compilation of some videos from September 28th to go along with her action shots.

Soccer Shots

Kinley started Soccer Shots on August 31st. Her group was 2-3 year olds. It lasted 10 weeks, and it was 30 minute sessions every Thursday. The sessions just taught the basic rules. They mainly just dribbled and scored some goals at the end. There weren't any games or anything like that. Her group started out with 13 kids. Some kids (or parents) only made it the one session, and the kids dwindled down fast. By the end, I think there were only 3 kids left. Luckily, Kinley loved "soccer ball" and still was just as excited to go by the end of it as she was the beginning!

Her dad was disappointed that he had to work the night of her first session. He's the one that played and knows about soccer. I know absolutely nothing about it because we really didn't have it growing up. I had to send him pictures and videos since he couldn't be there.

Kinley got the hang of soccer pretty fast. I think she was actually pretty good for how young she was. I don't think I'm just being biased either! She also did a good job of listening to her coaches and following directions. She didn't have it on her first day, but she ended up getting a soccer jersey to wear every week that she loved. She would get excited on Thursdays when it was time to put her soccer clothes on! She actually still talks about going to play soccer ball with other kids. Randomly some days, she'll ask, "Soccer ball today?" She also randomly will put her hands on mine to do her Soccer Shots cheer that they did at the end of every session. Soccer was definitely a hit for us!

This was her all dressed in her "workout clothes" before we left the house. She was trying to run and get me and the camera.
Some shots from her soccer debut

Here's four short videos of her that first day. The last one is of them doing their cheer at the end of the session.
