The Day of the Lost WEDDING RING

So last Thursday was a very stressful day...to say the least! When I got ready to go to work that morning... I couldn't find my wedding ring! I knew I had wore it to work on Wednesday, and I was pretty sure I had it on the way home from work. When I went to put it on the nightstand before bed on Wednesday night it wasn't on my finger, but I just assumed I had already put it in my jewelry box earlier when I had changed and didn't think twice about it.... until I couldn't find it anywhere the next morning! Then I went into panic mode!

We looked for it for a while on Thursday morning before I left for work. We took the couch apart, looked down the garbage disposal and everything. By the time I actually left for work, I was crying and assumed it must've fallen off my hand at work. My ring is loose enough to spin around and slides on and off pretty easily so I thought it was possible.
As soon as I got to work, I sent out an email to EVERYONE in the office to keep a look out for it. I went and retraced my steps downstairs, went and talked to security in the building and got them to contact building lost and found, got Ellen at work to contact the building, walked across the street to where Colt picked me up the day before with the little hope that I would see it, went through my shred box and everything else I could think of at my desk ... and nothing. Needless to say, I didn't get much work done that day! Colt was at home that day for a reading day, and I would get so anxious every time he would call. He was studying so he didn't look too much I don't think but he did look and went through all the trash and didn't see it anywhere.  He was suprisingly calm about the whole deal and said that it would show up, at least he acted calm towards me!
When I got home from work, we looked for probably a couple hours. We went through laundry, out in the yard, everything we could think of! Then we decided we would try a metal detector. We were going to end up going to go get it the next day if we didn't find it so we went ahead and went. They had them in Rockwall at Dick's Sporting Goods. So $270 later, we had us a metal detector! We came home and Colt used it in the front yard forever. Then we finally went back in the house. While he was using it, I decided to do one last round on my hands and knees with a flashlight in the bedroom, and I found it! I started screaming, and Colt didn't know if I was serious or not. It was wedged upside down between the carpet and the baseboard on the wall between my jewelry box and the TV! Both Colt and I had looked there earlier and didn't see it! Crazy! I really think I put it on top of the jewelry box and I must've opened it the next morning and it flew off! I was so relieved and so was Colt!
And I got to send out an email to everyone at work the next morning and tell them that it was found!
We decided it would probably be a good idea to get it appraised and insured!
One of the partners recommended a jeweler that she had used for appraisals and repairs. We had our jeweler that Colt used for my ring, but we keep having diamonds fall out of my setting and aren't really happy with them. We actually were missing a diamond when I lost it. We took it to the jeweler that was recommended to get it repaired, sized and appraised and got bad news! He said he couldn't repair the diamond because it was broken underneath and they had been gluing the diamond back in everytime they fixed it. It's an invisible setting so he said he doesn't even do them anymore. The few he had done, he gave people their money back on. He recommended we take it back to where we bought it, get them to repair it, and then come get it appraised. Then if we keep having trouble with it possibly end up replacing it since he said it was irreparable. The only thing that upset us about the whole thing was that the people Colt had bought it from had never told us it was broke, and it was probably broke a week after we got it because that's when the first diamond fell out.
We did drop off two of Colt's rings to get appraised though, and we bought me this new wedding band that I had been wanting for a while!
Sooooo glad we found my WEDDING RING!!

Show Us Where You Live - Master Bedrooms

This Friday over at Kelly's Korner was Show Us Where You Live - Master Bedrooms. I am late again with my post this week, but with work I can't ever seem to get my post up on time!
Welcome to our Master Bedroom! We had been using Colt's, my husband's, bedroom furniture from when he was growing up. We ordered this right before we moved into the new house and had it delivered when we moved in! We got it at Rooms to Go, and I love it! The headboard is cushioned and it's great for sitting up and reading or being on the computer while in bed!

You can also see our dog's blanket laying over in the floor!
Our bedding all came from Bed, Bath and Beyond and was a wedding present from my parents, and the curtains were from JC Penney's and were a present from Colt's mom when we were still living in our apartment. All the decor and picture frames in our room are probably from either Hobby Lobby or Kirkland's, just like the rest of our house :)
And I won the TV that is in our bedroom the day we had a Wii tournament at work. I didn't win playing Wii, but I was the lucky random drawing winner!

Our wedding invitation is framed on the left side of the TV. We used this on the sign in table at our wedding too!
And on Colt's side of the bed, he has the poem and message thaat I framed and gave him on the day of our wedding and his Iphone charger and that's about it. He was actually just griping at me today when he was dusting about me having too much stuff & clutter on my nightstand!

And here are a few pics of our closet too.  I really enjoy having the seasonal rods in our closet. Our closet and pantry are probably a couple of my favorite things about our house.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!

Show Us Where You Live - Living Rooms

Kelly's Korner, a blog that I follow, does a Show Us Your Life - Friday's. This past week, she started the home tours and Friday was Living Rooms.

Everyone that already reads our blog has more than likely already saw the pics of our house because I posted them a few months ago after our open house. I already had the pics so I thought it would be fun to reuse them, link up, and participate!

Welcome to our living room!

Our entryway going into the living room
This is my husband's favorite part of our living room so I had to put a pic of it on here. When we were building, I wanted to put a plain ceiling instead of the ceiling treatment and he wouldn't let me! Now I'm glad that he didn't because I love it too.
Going from our living room into our master bedroom
I'm a little late posting mine, but over 200 people have already linked up with their living room pics! I think it's fun to look and see everyone's different styles and decorating ideas!

Mom's Birthday

My mom's birthday was this past Monday, September 13th. Unfortunately we couldn't go down or meet them on her actual birthday due to the tax deadline being on Wednesday. My dad was out of town bird hunting with my brother for the weekend so yesterday my mom came up to our house for the afternoon, and her and I went to lunch at On the Border in Rockwall. We also went to a shoe store, Kohl's and Half Price Books while we were there. I had bought her Nicholas Spark's new book, Safe Haven, and The Lucky One for her birthday. She had already borrowed The Lucky One from someone, but we kept it anyways. At Half Price Books, I think she ended up buying the remainder of all of his books that I didn't already have, for us both to read when we get a chance! It was a good day, and we had fun getting to spend time with each other!

Dodgeball Tournament - Sept. 8th and 9th

Colt's dodgeball tournament with their colleges was on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 8th and 9th. The tournament was single elimination. His team won their first game Wednesday night so they played again an hour later. I got there in time to watch the second one, and it was right about the time the tornado warning was going on and a tornado actually touched down just a couple blocks from the school! We all had to go sit in the locker rooms at the school rec center until it passed over. One of Colt's classmates actually took a pic of the tornado from outside his apartment.

Since his team won both games on Wednesday, he played Thursday, and he actually ended up playing three games Thursday night because they made it to the Championship game! I'm sure Colt would do this post much more justice than me because he said it felt like they won the Super Bowl! It was a pretty intense and exciting dodgeball tournament.... Much more intense than I thought it would be!  They played against Cary College the first game on Thursday and it was pretty low key. The next game against Foshina is when it got a little crazy. There was a lot of cheating going on by a guy and girl on the other team. In the tournament you had to win 3/5 games so they got to 2/2 and Colt's team ended up barely winning the last match over another controversial call. Those matches were definitely heated and there were some apologies afterwards!

Then for the championship game, Colt's team played Pritchard college. One of Colt's friends, Brock, was actually on this team. It wasn't as unfriendly as the one above, but it was exciting. It came down to the last match as well, and everyone was pretty sure in the last match that Colt's team was going to lose. All that was left were the girls on his team against all of the other team. Then one of the girls caught a ball and got Colt back in, then another guy got back in and it was a complete turnaround. Colt's team won in the last 20 seconds. Colt got one guy out, it bounced back and he caught it, then he threw it and pegged a girl in the head (by accident) for the last out. I got the very end of the game on video! It was a crazy ending!

This is his team, the Sprague's, after winning the championship game!
The team with their Coach, Scott, who is actually Colt's MS2 big sib.
Warming up
and doing their chant. They were pretty serious about it. They had their war paint and everything!

Colt and Jaron
Colt actually ended up playing him on the second day.
Pics from during Wednesday's second game
They even broke a pinata on the court after winning.
Colt was probably talking strategy between matches!
His team after winning Wednesday night! Ryan played in the first game but wasn't able to play the second so he's missing from the team pic.
Getting their warpaint on before starting their games on Thursday
Of course Colt went and got in the middle of the other teams huddle
Ryan, Colt and Josh

Brock, he wasn't too happy
Team cheer after winning the championship!
If you notice gray on some of the pics, it's because after the last game on Thursday, I somehow deleted all the pics from the tournament off my camera except for maybe 6. Colt was not happy with me at all! I don't know how I even did it, but I did! He found a program to recover deleted pics from an SD card. He had to pay for i,t but he got almost all, if not all, of them back and only a few of them are messed up!
