Remainder January in Photos

January 1st
Colt was off New Year's Day. We went to Chipotle for lunch. Kinley loves guacamole.
January 2nd
Lucky usually doesn't let her get that close to him.
Colt was working in Sulphur Springs so we had frozen pizza and ice cream while Dad was away.
January 3rd
She was sticking out her belly to show me the penguin on her pajamas. She knows her Papa loves (really hates) penguins. One of Grandma and Papa friends got her these pajamas.
January 5th
Dipping her fingers in the blueberry muffin mix
Feeding her baby...
and putting her baby to bed in Cutler's room.
January 7th
Not a lot of room for big sister to lay when I'm 35 weeks pregnant.
January 8th
Practicing having two kids... the Pakzads were in town job hunting. Jett was being a bit of a handful so we volunteered to skip out on dinner and take him home so they could talk to people and get a better feel about the job and the town.
January 10th
Donuts for breakfast... Pa had hip surgery that day in Sulphur Springs. We didn't go because we didn't want to take the chance of me going into labor in Sulphur Springs or on the car ride there with just me and Kinley! We also didn't want Kinley to have to sit in a hospital all day.
January 12th
Groceries from Fresh means we get a smoothie or sometimes ice cream
January 20th
Kinley went to Grandma and Papa's house for 2 nights. Pretty much every time she goes, she talks them into buying her something. This time it was Mickey Mouse. She also doesn't have a bedtime at their house I don't think. Colt and I share an app with them to track our phones. We'll look when they have her and they'll still be out and about way after bedtime!
January 25th
Frisbee with Alex
January 28th
A video of Kinley riding her bike... Our street goes uphill. She made it downhill just fine, but we got off and walked back up the hill to our house.
January 29th
I'm pretty sure this was her first icee at Target. Now, 7 months later, she'll say she wants to go to the icee store!
January 30th
This was my last doctors appointment before little man arrived. Kids weren't usually allowed in the doctors office. My appointment was after Kinley got out of school and Colt wanted to be there to talk to my doctor about an induction date so we got approval for her to come in.
.
Colt spent some time in January making frames and trays for the media room.
He also accidentally caught a spot between our yard and our neighbor's yard on fire! Luckily he realized it before it got too out of hand.

Getting Ready For Cutler

During January, we were preparing for Cutler to get here. Since Kinley joined us early at 35 weeks, 3 days, we REALLY thought he was going to join us at least a little early.  We assumed he was going to be a January baby instead of a February baby. He proved us wrong! I made a couple of previous posts about those last few weeks of pregnancy here and here

We got Cutler's room wrapped up in January. The curtain rod, shelves, and peg board were all made by Colt. I sure am glad he's handy! Kinley donated her old crib and rocking chair to Cutler. At the time, she thought his room and the crib was for her baby dolls. I would always find her babies sleeping in his room! Since these pictures were taken, we've added his handprint and footprint to his wall, like Kinley has in her room.
His hospital outfit is in the jar on his shelf now too.
His hospital outfit. I got to prepare a little more this time around. The hospital outfit that I ordered for Kinley, she didn't even get to wear. It was too big for her.
Big sister and little brother shirts that I had made. He actually ended up wearing this home from the hospital.
The same lady that made the shirts above made Cutler the bibs and burp rags below. I thought everything turned out so cute!
Now he's 6 months old! In a way it seems like he was just born, and in another way, it seems like he's always been a part of our family and I can't imagine our life before him.

Short n Sassy Boutique made the sister/brother shirts, burp rags and bibs. FunkyJunkyPeacock made his matching hospital hat and onesie with his name on it. She actually even gave us the onesie for free.

Discovery Science Place

We made a morning trip to the Discovery Science Place on January 27th while Colt was off. I was a day away from being 38 weeks pregnant, and I was trying to squeeze in a little fun for Kinley before little man made his debut.

Snow Days

January 16th, we had a snow day. Kinley's school got cancelled for the day. Colt was off work so around lunch we bundled up and took Kinley out to play. Our fun was short and sweet, but Kinley enjoyed it while it lasted. Kinley liked making her handprints and footprints in the snow and would say "See... hand" or "See... snow."

This was her looking out the window that morning. Evidently her toys, Pete and Snow White had to look too.
A lot of places around town got a little more snow that we did. Colt took this on Cumberland by our house.
The next day, we brought some snow in and did some snow painting for a fun little activity that entertained Kinley forever. Someone ended up eating snow and painting her mouth by the end of it.
