February Desktop

Tomorrow is the first day of February and the weather is supposed to get cold and bad during the night tonight. Hopefully, it doesn't get too bad. We started overtime today for spring busy season... a little early this year. The last few years I don't think we've started until around Valentine's weekend. Colt and I are trying to still carpool while I'm in tax season, so hopefully it'll last. We are going to try him dropping me off at work at 6:30 and then picking me up around 4:30 to 5 so that we're still done at an early time and can still ride together. We usually are at his school by 7 to workout, so it shouldn't be but about 30 minutes different than the usual (except with no planned workout time for me).. it's only day 1 though and I'm already tired and it definitely felt like more than an extra 30 minutes!

Logan's 1st Birthday

We went to see my family yesterday to celebrate my nephew, Logan's, 1st birthday! I didn't get too many pics on my camera because my battery went dead as soon as we got there so most of the pics are on my mom's camera. Logan was walking around everywhere!  I got him a book and a little dump truck with a shovel and pale to play with outside. Well, he is in the push everything mode, and evidently the little dump truck is not made to be pushed. As soon as he would get behind it and push it, the dump truck would flip up and pop him in the face. His mouth ended up bleeding from it and he would cry everytime, but he kept going back to it. If he turned it backwards it was fine, but of course it didn't stay backwards. Lily even turned it around once in the direction that it would pop up and hit him, with us all yelling for her not too, and as soon as she did, Pop, it hit him in the face.. again! After about the 5th or 6th time, the toy got put away. Colt said it is going to be the toy that gets recalled for hurting kids and that he had nothing to do with picking out the toy! He got lots of other toys and I think him and Lily both had fun playing with them.

New Year's Eve & Dog Pics

We spent New Year's Eve at the house, eating dinner and watching movies together, and playing with the dogs! We live exciting lives, but that's the way we like it!!

And here are some pics that Colt took of Lucky and Alex through the window on New Year's Day. They were both sitting by the fence and they looked like they were posing.

Snow 2011

We had our first snow of 2011, maybe our only, but you never know with our weather!

We had record snow last year while we were building the house, but this was our first snow IN the new house.

The main part of the snow was during the weekend. We played in the snow a little with the dogs and Colt's neice and nephew, but didn't get any pics, and we got to go in late on Monday so we didn't have to fight the roads or the traffic. Other than that, we stayed in and stayed warm.

Christmas Day

Christmas morning we got up and had our Christmas together. Colt and I decided not to really exchange this year so he got a card and some Turtles in his stocking. Alex and Lucky both got new squeaky toys and treats!

Alex was more concered about the treats that were in her stocking than her toy.

Then we headed over to Colt's moms house to see what Santa brought the kids. We got there right before the kids got up.

 Colt got a new ladder, which he needed! Everytime he needed one, he would go steal his mom's and just keep it.

We watched the kids play, ate a late breakfast and hung out there until that afternoon. Then we went home for a little while and headed back over there to eat dinner and watch the football game. It was a great Christmas, and I'm glad we got to spend it with both of our families.

Christmas Eve

We flew in on the 23rd from Utah. We were at our house for a little while, and then we repacked and headed to my parents to spend the night. My family always has done Christmas on Christmas Eve and Colt's does it on Christmas Day so it works out great for us. Christmas Eve morning we got up and went to see my brother's and Jennifer's house that they are building in Pittsburg. It looks great and they are actually in the process of moving in it this weekend. Afterwards, we went back to my parents. Heath and my mom made their annual Christmas Santa cookies. Instead of me and my mom baking cookies, its always Heath and my mom!

My brother Joe had to work until later that night so the whole family got together at dinner. Instead of the traditional meal, we had steaks.

My dad had decided to let my nephew drive his old truck and make payments on it,but he wanted Jacob to sign a contract regarding payments and all the "rules" of driving the truck so I typed up a contract. I couldn't believe there were already premade templates for this type of thing! All I had to do was change and add a few things. Jacob and my dad signed it and Heath and I were witnesses... probably a little overkill but maybe it will make him more accountable and responsible.

It was Logan's first Christmas. He was running a little fever (which I think may be how me and the rest of my family were sick the whole week after Christmas... but theres no telling).
