This was a pic off my phone of Colt on Christmas Day. Josh's mom made Colt a whole loaf of pumpkin gingerbread. During our quick run home Christmas Day, Colt enhaled half of the loaf!
Colt and I were both off the whole week of Christmas. It was nice but it flew by!
The day after Christmas we ran to Mesquite to run a few errands before having lunch at Chipotle. When we got home from the gym that night, Alex started having issues. She started acting like she was hacking something up or trying to. Between her hacking episodes, she seemed fine, but it would get worse when she would chase the ball or get excited. The next morning it continued. We had left her outside while we were at the gym, and Colt found our waterhose cover chewed up in the backyard so we assumed she had ate that and that is possibly got stuck. Since she wasn't improving, we went ahead and took her to the vet on Friday morning. We had to leave her, and they ended up scoping her and doing an x-ray and of course found nothing. Her throat was all red and scratchy so they assumed she had ate something and it cleared itself. So a lot of money later, we were home with cough syrup for her. Since then, my parents dog and my brothers new dog that they adopted from a shelter have the same symptoms. Although Lucky and Alex have been vaccinated for kennel cough, now we're thinking Alex might possibly have kennel cough instead since the other two dogs that we were with Christmas have the same symptoms and all started having symptoms the same day. Luckily, Lucky hasn't had any symptoms yet though, and Alex seems to be doing better regardless of what the cause was.

Saturday morning we went to the gym and then we went and played paintball after lunch. Josh, Brianna and one of Josh's friends came out, and another couple from the gym, Katie and Charner, went as well. I definitely have bruises to show for it. My hand is bruised and a little swollen, I have a huge bruise on my calf and another one on my chest! I don't know that I'll be going again for a long while. It was fun though, and Colt definitely had a good time and got to test out his new GoPro!
Tonight we had dinner with one of Colt's college professors, Slovak, and his family at Salt Grass. We try to get together with them ever so often and it had been a while. Now Colt is over at his parents watching the Cowboy game. I stayed home to blog a little and start trying to figure out how I'm going to finish my home video project. I started transferring all of my family's old home videos from VHS to DVD probably about 5 years ago and have yet to finish! I don't know if I ever will!
This morning, I also woke up with a sore throat. After talking to my mom, it sounds like the rest of my family is in the same boat so I took extra vitamins today and am hoping it goes away!
I also just got a call from my mom while I was typing this that one of my brother's good friends and fellow game wardens, was shot in the chest tonight. My brother and another one of his friends found out while they were in Dallas at the Cowboy game and left to go help. That's the only news that I know but definitely thinking about him and his family and hope that he recovers.
