Florida Vacation - July 15th

Day 5, Colt and James planned a fishing trip for the day. They left super early and spent most of the day out on the water. It was the first time that Colt had ever went deep sea fishing. The night before, he went and bought his fishing gear which consisted of his orange and camo NRA hat and American flag shirt. I think he was going for the redneck look. Jessica, Kinley and I had planned on going with James' grandparents to the dock to meet the guys when they came in from fishing. Kinley ended up getting pretty sick and was really fussy so Kinley and I stayed home. Jessica said that James' grandpa loved Colt's outfit though! We were all supposed to go to dinner afterwards. Instead, Colt came home and called Kinley in a prescription and went to Walgreens for some Zarbee's. James' grandparents went and ate by themselves since we didn't want Kinley to be around James' grandpa, and his grandma brought Colt and I some Mexican food back to the condo.
While they were fishing, Kinley and I spent the entire day in our room. She was definitely not feeling good and wanted to be held the entire day. Since we were cooped up in our room, at least our view was good. I spent the day tending to her and looking out the window.
Colt didn't get any pictures while they were out but here are some after they got back with everything they caught. Evidently Colt caught a really big amberjack but had to throw it back because they were out of season, and he didn't get a picture of it. They took their half of the fish home and James' grandma cooked us some of the snapper the next night for dinner. I'm not a big fish person so I was a little skeptical, but it was actually really good.

Day 4, Colt snapped these pictures looking out of our room that morning.
One of the residents that was in the class above Colt and James had recently moved to Alabama so he ended up driving up for the day to hang out.
They got out the boards. Colt wasn't too great, although I can't say much because I didn't even try.
Kinley got in her morning nap on the beach again...
Then woke up for some personal pool and beach play time.
We stayed in for dinner that night and ordered Merlin's Pizza.  This float lit up and Kinley was a fan of playing in it.
Kinley went to bed early (because she was getting sick). While the rest of us were eating, we watched a little air show and then watched fireworks over the harbor. Luckily, neither of these woke Kinley up!

Florida Vacation - July 13th

It's New Years Eve and about an hour away from ringing in the new year so what am I doing... I'm in bed watching Fuller House and trying to knock out some blog posts while waiting on Colt to get home from working all day in College Station. I'm also listening to Kinley cough her head off on the baby monitor and hoping that it doesn't wake her up! Yes, she's sick yet again with a cold going on a few days now.

Day 3 of our vacation, we started the morning off at the beach again. The water was so pretty that morning so we got a family picture to start off the day. When I posted this picture on Facebook, someone made a comment about our matching swimsuits. It was a coincidence that both of our bathing suits were polka dots, and Kinley's swimsuit was actually navy and mine black.
We also tried to get a mother daughter picture.
Of course, I have a goofy face trying to get her to smile.
Colt taking Kinley for a stroll in the water...

and letting her play in the sand and splash.

This video is of her walking in the water. She kept trying to walk on top of the water as she went out.

I mentioned this in a previous post, but she actually ended up learning how to walk on this trip. She would walk up and down the sand from the water to the tent. Colt was like, "if she can walk in the sand, then she can walk!" She quickly started walking all over the place in the condo.
The guys and Jessica left for a bit while Kinley took her morning nap in the tent. It was perfect because while she was napping, I got to get a tiny bit of sun and was able to read a little bit.

She was definitely living the life!
When they got back, they played some more in the water and Kinley crawled/walked up and down the beach over and over. She definitely got her workout in. By the end of the day, her legs were wobbly and starting to give out from so many trips up and down the sand.
Just a little video of her crawling up the beach
We got her cleaned up and she was wiped out for her afternoon nap.
That night James' grandparents took us on a ferry to a restaurant right off the water. I think the name of it was Louisiana Lagniappe. It was a great dinner again, and of course Kinley was the center of attention. These pictures were all on the ferry ride to dinner.

Florida Vacation - July 12th

We had a great Christmas... busy... but great. We actually just finished the last of our Christmas celebrations yesterday morning. We like to celebrate for a whole week I guess. Of course, before I can post about our Christmas, I'm back to this summer and our vacation.

Day 2, we headed to the beach. James had the idea that it would be better and less crowded to walk down the beach to a spot. I don't know what he was thinking. He wasn't carrying a baby and all our gear that's for sure! We didn't make the walk any other day and were perfectly happy right down from the condo.

This was her first time to see the beach! It looks like she might've been chewing on a seashell to celebrate.

A video of her the first time she got her feet in the sand... you can hear her protective Dad telling me to not go any further and to keep both hands on her!
Another video of her going into the ocean with her Daddy.

Playing in her personal swimming pool
After we spent some time at the beach, we walked back and got in the pool for a bit.
James and Jessica... the soon to be married couple.
After a morning at the beach and pool, she was ready for a nap.
That night we went to dinner at a place called Old Bay Steamer. Colt got king crab, and I ordered a lobster, scallop and shrimp combo dinner. Everything was really good. Kinley even got her taste of some seafood. After dinner, we went to visit James' grandpa at his garage and chased Kinley around for a bit.
