The last routine post that I did was from last August! This post is from September... 9 months ago. I was still fairlyearly on in my pregnancy with Cutler.
Kinley and I made a trip back to Temple to visit on September 10th and 11th. We drove down on a Sunday and stayed in a hotel. We got to go play at our old park, Lion's Park, that was right next to our old house. I might've driven by our old house too just to check it out! Monday morning, we headed to workout at CrossFit Sprag. Then along with all of our kids, Heather, Megan, Lacie and I grabbed Chick-fil-a and went to Jules' house to go play. Jules' and her boys' toys put our toys to shame! It was good to go back and see the people we used to see on a daily basis. We love Tyler but still miss parts of Temple too!
Since Colt was working nights, he got off and got to Anna's house about the time we were getting up and ready on the day of Kinley's birthday. He was going to try and take a nap while I took Kinley to her doctor's appointment at 9. Then he was going to meet me at the title company to sign papers and close on the house at 10. He ended up getting woke up by our realtor though because the new owners were at the house and couldn't get either the water or electric to work, I can't remember which. He got up and headed over there to help. Come to find out, the new owners had forgot to get utilities set up and turned on in their name. Colt made some calls and got some extra days extended on our bill to help them out. Needless to say, he didn't get to sleep much! After we closed on the house that morning, Colt went back to Anna's to try and get some more sleep while I took cupcakes to CrossFit Sprag so that we could celebrate Kinley's day with gym friends.
I previously posted her 2 year stats from her doctor's appointment. I thought she was due for shots but she was up-to-date from her previous visit and didn't have to get any on her birthday!
When we got to the gym, Megan, Jules and their kids had gotten Kinley gifts. Megan got her a little outfit. Jules got her a LeapFrog toy that her boys had liked at Kinley's age. After we shared cupcakes with all the kids, the three of us and our kids went to Chick-fil-a for lunch. I'm glad that we got to be in town and celebrate her birthday with old friends on the actual day!
My last day at CrossFit Sprag was May 18th. They announced that it was a partner workout again that day. When the workout was announced, one of the girls messaged me that if one of us died during the workout, they felt like I would have to stick around! This is Jules and I after our actual last workout together! Jules is definitely a super mom and has two genius little boys.
Megan brought donuts for everyone on our last morning at Sprag. While I did my final workout, Kinley had donuts to celebrate her last day at the gym! I think she got the better end of the deal! It was her first time to ever taste sprinkled donuts.
It made it so much more fun to workout when working out with the same group of women everyday and then hanging out and playing with our babies afterwards!
On my birthday, Kinley and I started our day at the gym. My last day at CrossFit Sprag before our move was going to be the next day, May 18th. When they announced the May 17th workout as a partner workout, Jules and I assumed that we wouldn't have two partner workouts in a row and that it would be our last partner workout to do together before I moved. Her and I had started teaming up, and it was always assumed that we were going to be partners. After our workout, a few of the Sprag moms went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and a playdate. I miss all the Sprag moms that I worked out with in the mornings and their little ones!
I had a hair appointment later that day at 5. Colt kept Kinley while I was getting my hair done. When I got home from my appointment, surprisingly Matt and Whitney's car was there. Colt had cooked steak and all the sides by himself for dinner (while taking care of Kinley I'll add), and he had invited Matt, Whitney and Alicia over to surprise me for my birthday dinner! Whitney also brought Nothing Bundt Cakes for dessert. It was a nice little surprise. These girls are another reason that I miss Temple. They are two of the first people that I met when I moved there, and they became some of the best friends. We started out with no babies. As you can tell from this picture, all of our lives have definitely changed since we met! Since this picture was taken, Whitney and I are actually both working on Baby #2!
I'm glad I took a picture of her in this outfit early before we headed to the gym because she quickly tore up the bow on it. The rest of the month it was safety pinned on!
In her pajamas. We normally don't wear bows with our pajamas... I was trying some new ones on her that came in the mail!
October 9th
Laying in the floor with her Daddy.
October 10th
This is what she was eating for breakfast pretty much every morning. That's either two or three eggs. Yes, she would eat it all!
She also started eating WHOLE bananas around this time. The first time, she pointed to the cabinet and said "nana." I gave her one, and she proceeded to eat the whole thing. Then she went back and wanted another one.
She loves her food.
October 11th
Here's a video of her naming some parts of her body. She had them all down for the most part. We caught just a few of them on video.
October 13th
16 months old.
October 14th
Stealing my smoothie.
October 17th
She thinks she is supposed to be able to fit in my old Barbie car.
When she realized it wasn't happening, she decided that one of her stuffed animals could drive instead.
Riding around in her Matilda Jane bag.
Miss blue eyes playing in the fan with her Daddy... I find videos from Colt's phone that I never even knew happened.
October 18th
Playing at the park in our neighborhood
October 19th
Alex and Kinley
For a while, Kinley had this nightly routine when her Dad was home at night. When it was time for bed, I would tell her to go tell her Dad night, night. She would start running towards our bedroom giving kisses. Once she got there though, instead of giving him a kiss, she would run from side to side of the bed teasing him. She thought it was so funny.
October 23rd
She loves her books. We have them all over the house.
I think Colt was outside cooking steak. She blocked the door and wouldn't let him back in the house.
October 24th
Just sitting reading her one of her favorite books at the time. She loved and still loves the Little People books.
October 25th
A friend from the gym took these of her little boy and Kinley because they just happened to show up at the gym all dressed up like they were going on a first date. We couldn't get them to both look at the camera for us. Kinley also started dancing for everyone at the gym around this time. One day as soon as we walked in and heard music, she stopped and started dancing. She threw her hands in the air, and it looked like she was "raising the roof." She had the coaches and everyone else in the gym dancing with their hands up. She kinda has a thing for rap music. Most of the time that's what they are playing at the gym so it makes her want to dance!
October 26th
Practicing her balance on her Dad's back.
October 28th
We had family pictures this day so we just grabbed Bush's chicken on the way home. She LOVES sweet tea!
October 29th
A video of Kinley and her Dad swinging and playing frisbee with Alex.
October 30th
Wearing my shirt around the house.
October 31st
In her cute little pajamas playing on her iPad. Yes, this is her iPad. Grandma gave her an old iPad when she was still a newborn. We didn't use it forever, but now we do. She loves playing on it, particularly doing puzzles on it. She's actually really good. The other night at dinner, one of our friends was actually impressed by her and said "is that normal?" I said, "I don't know. I don't have any other kids." Then she said, "No, that's not normal. My niece and nephew can't do that." I have to limit it though because she would stay glued to it forever if I let her.
And last, but definitely not least, a video of her "jumping." When I would count to 3, she would go up on her tiptoes. She thought she was jumping though!
On September 24th, I competed in the Thin Blue Line Throwdown, a CrossFit competition at my gym. I definitely wasn't planning on competing in it. It was teams of 4, 2 guys and 2 girls. When Krista asked me, I told her I would be their backup if they couldn't find anyone else. Well, evidently that meant that I was doing it. We ended up signing up for Rx rather than scaled. I was definitely a little intimidated because I had just started working out a few months before after not working out forever pre-baby and post-baby. I also knew that some of the people that were competing in Rx were actually on our competition team or had been to CrossFit Regionals before. If it was a solo competition, I wouldn't have been as nervous. I just didn't want to be the weak link and let my team down.
This was our team, the FRANtastic Four. Krista and I worked out together most mornings. The mornings that we didn't, she was the gym babysitter for Kinley. She also kept Kinley one time while Colt and I went on a day date. She recently moved back to New York, and I miss working out with her. Our 2 guys were Torey and Ryan. They both are students at UMHB. Krista knew them, but I didn't. Krista is pretty serious about working out so she planned a couple of team meetings for us prior to the competition. I met Torey for the first time at the first meeting, but Ryan didn't show up. The second meeting she scheduled, neither one of them showed up. We were beginning to wonder if they would show up the day of the competition!
Workout 1 was:
Athlete 1:
15-12-9
Thrusters (95lb men/65lb women)
Pull ups
Athlete 2:
12-9-6
Thrusters (115/75)
Burpees over bar
Athlete 3:
9-6-3
Thrusters (135/95)
Chest 2 Bar Pull ups
Athlete 4:
5-3-1
Thrusters (155/105)
Bar Muscle Ups
Workout 2 Part 1 was:
Athlete 1:
1 rep max hang clean
Athlete 2:
1 rep max shoulder to overhead
Athlete 3:
1 rep max front squat
Athlete 4:
1 rep max thruster
THEN after a 2 minute break, Part 2 was:
1 mile run as a team
After every person reached the finish line, then we had 160 ft. sled pull with each athlete pulling 40 ft. The girls weight on the sled was 150 lbs. and the guys was 195 lbs.
All 4 of us were pretty fast so we knew if we could hang with everyone the rest of the workouts, we would probably do really well in the run. A couple days before the competition, Krista ran a mile to see how fast she could run it in, and she ran it in a 6:30. She text me like it was no big deal! My plan was to just keep fairly close to her so that we could start the sled pull when I got done.
Before the run, we were sitting in 3rd place. There were only 5 teams! 3 made it to finals though, and Krista was really wanting to make it to the finals. When we were running, I got to about the 400m and looked at Krista and said "where's our guys?" I looked back and thought I saw them, but it wasn't them. We got to the 800m turn around point and met our guys just starting their mile run! They were inside talking and didn't know that we had started!! So the next 800m, we just took it easy running since our guys were so far behind and we couldn't start the next part until everyone was done. We ended up hitting the time cap before I could even do the sled pull. While Krista and I were standing around waiting on our guys to finish their run, our judge made the comment "that's what you get for having college guys as partners!" I didn't even think about looking for them at the starting line. I just assumed they were there! I watched the finals though, and I think it was a blessing in disguise (for me at least). I wouldn't have wanted to do the finals workout, and we definitely would've gotten last in it!
I was actually proud of how Krista and I did. I told Colt to remind me to never agree to do a competition again though! It just takes a lot of time. Plus since Colt was working, I had to get someone to watch Kinley. Luckily, Colt's mom and Davallen came and kept her for me.
Not a very pretty lifting face!
While I was working out, Kinley was home playing ... and wearing her Daddy's boots. I had to leave before Kinley ever woke up that morning. Grandma was pretty surprised with how much Kinley ate for breakfast. I had told her before I left that Kinley ate 2 or 3 eggs, along with all her fruit. When I got home she said she was glad I told her because she really did eat that much and that she would've probably only made her 1 egg! I was a little worried leaving Kinley because at the time no one else had really ever put her down for a nap but me. They said she did great though and was happy and playing like crazy the whole time I was gone!
