Grandma and Papa came and stayed with us a couple of nights and were here on July 4th. Colt had to work at 5am the next day so we almost didn't go watch fireworks, but we were so glad that we did. After we ate dinner at the house, we went and watched the show on the golf course at Holly Tree like we had the year before. Kinley loved how "sparkly" all the fireworks were. I asked which was her favorite. She said all of them! Cutler didn't mind them either. Kinley obviously didn't want to be patriotic that day, but Cutler and I wore our red, white and blue.

Red, White and Blue - June 2018
The many faces of Kinley and Cutler in their red, white and blue.
Why does he look as big as her?!
A little video of what it sounds like when I'm trying to get their pic!

July 4th 2017
Josh and Brianna are members of one of the country clubs here in town. They invited us over on July 4th to go swimming. Our little water baby had fun! She wanted no part of the kiddie pool. She was all about the big water slide over and over again. We definitely have a little daredevil on our hands. She was sliding with kids way older than her while all the kids her age were in the kiddie pool. We finally had to make her stop after the millionth time because her legs were getting tired and wobbly from going up the stairs so many times!
Going for another trip on the slide. I'm telling you, she was all about it!
After going home for a nap, we went back over there that night to watch fireworks.
Here's a couple of videos of her on the waterslide.

Happy July 4th
Colt went into work after lunch on the 4th so we didn't do too much for the holiday. We did take Kinley to the parade in Belton that morning though.
This was before the parade of me trying to get a picture of her in her patriotic outfit and her sunglasses of course!
During the parade, she was a little confused and unsure of what everyone was doing!
Before Colt went into work, he was sitting in the recliner and Kinley thought his reaction to her moving the recliner up and down was hilarious. I caught the end of it on video but she was laughing hysterically. I love her laugh.

4th of July
Kinley was with me on the couch.
Lucky was snoozing on the other couch.
Colt did go and get us Meg's that day because I was wanting pecan pancakes. They got our order a little wrong, but it was oh so good! Their pancakes are probably not quite as good as the KOA pancakes we had in Hawaii and definitely not as cheap, but their white chocolate mocha is definitely better than Starbucks. Now that I have reintroduced dairy and started reintroducing egg a little into my diet, I might have to make an order or visit soon because it's been months, and it sounds good!

4th of July
For the 4th of July, we had people over to celebrate with burgers and cornhole in the backyard. The guys also played a little chess, at least Colt and Wade did, and I think we ended up watching some Independence Day on TV in the backyard as well! I actually don't think I've ever watched that movie the whole way through, and I still haven't.
You can't do 4th of July without watermelon right? I don't like it but everyone else did.
My festive shirt for the day
The girls all brought cute little patriotic treats.
Kacie brought fruit cups and cake. Alicia brought this impressive United States cake. I wouldn't have had the patience I don't think!

Lucky buried in the flowerbed. I think it keeps him cool.
Colt had broken one of our red chairs.
Somehow Randy ended up on the ground, and I'm sure Colt planned it that way.
Tina and Riley stopped by on their way to the firework show. They were definitely most patriotic for the day!
Since Colt had to work early the next day, we opted to not go to the firework show.
Before bed I realized, we never took a pic together so we snapped one after he was already in bed.
It was a good 4th of July with new friends! I'm glad for me that it was on a Friday this year, and I still had the rest of the weekend off!

July 4th
We went and celebrated the 4th with Gerald's family in Kemp. Peter and Jamie, Gerald's parents, cooked ribs, parmesan and BBQ chicken wings, brats, and homemade mac and cheese and everything was wonderful! Their family makes some parmesan chicken wings that are amazing and I don't even really like chicken wings!

The beginning of the firework show turned into a firework battle between all the guys. They were throwing black cats at each other to start with and then Colt and Gerald ending up having a roman candle shoot out! I don't know what it is about Colt and fire?! or guys and fire?!
And this was during the roman candle shoot out. They got VERY close a few times. They are crazy!

Colt looks like he's up to something in this one and I'm sure he was!
And part of the grand finale
Here are a couple of videos of the guys playing with their fireworks and the last one is the very end of the roman candle shoot out. I wish I would've gotten it all on video but I was a little worried about them at first! We had a great time celebrating the 4th with Gerald's family and appreciate them inviting us out!
