New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve, Colt was working so Kinley and I celebrated pretty low key. We went on our first Mommy/Daughter trip together to the nail salon. She'd went her first time with Grandma and Papa right before Christmas. She chose purple nail polish again. She did really good. I think she got bored having to wait on her nails to dry though!
For dinner, our last meal of the year, we had cereal.
Here's a video of us ringing in the new year a few hours early. She was saying "cockadoodledoo" that night and making me laugh. I also had her saying "Happy New Year!"

Week 29: December 26th- January 1st

Once we got back home from visiting both of our families for the holidays, Colt gave me this Pandora charm for Christmas. It's two charms, one that says mother and one that says daughter, and they join together. Maybe one day Kinley will have her own charm bracelet, and I can give her half of it.

Bundled up in her jacket and toboggan out for a walk.
I think I bundled her up too much because we got a little hot! Since we had such a warm winter, we didn't really get to wear her cute little jacket at all.
December 31st
Colt was working so these three were my dates for bringing in the New Year!
Evidently I didn't even make it to midnight either.

A little video of filled with Kinley giggles... I would say that starting out the year with baby giggles is a good sign for the year!

New Year's Eve

Our New Year's Eve really isn't even worthy of a blog post! We aren't much on New Year's celebrations.  This year I was also just starting to feel better so we decided to not attend any parties or anything like that. We stayed in for dinner and ended up watching a movie in bed! I think we were asleep by around 10, or at least I was! Then I woke up at around 11 in time to see the ball drop on TV in New York before falling back asleep! We definitely spent our New Year's doing what we typically like to do! The next day Colt was off.  I made chicken fried steak for lunch, along with the traditional (at least in my family) New Year's black eyed peas and cabbage. It was the first time I've ever cooked either one since I'm the only one of us that eats either (I think Colt may have had one bite of both), but this year I figured why not try to start the year off with good luck and good fortune?! Even though we are now already a month into 2015, I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the year!

Happy New Year!

We celebrated New Year's at home and were not only in bed... but asleep by about 9:30 or 10! Honestly, that's my kind of New Year's!! Colt had a long couple days back at the hospital, and I worked pretty late so that was the perfect night for us. We did go pick up Chicken Express for our New Year's Eve dinner :) Even though we didn't stay up late, we still slept in this morning. Then we started off our day with a New Year's WOD at the gym at 11 this morning. We did a team workout consisting of 60 minutes of rowing. We bought groceries, had lunch, and are now just hanging out at the house. I'm hoping we both fight off the bug that it seems like we're getting and start the new year off healthy rather than sick. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what 2014 has in store for us. There will be lots of changes and Colt will complete another big chapter of his career and officially be an MD in May! I'm a little sad and nervous about some of the changes coming but above all that I'm excited! Happy New Year and here's to what is hopefully a great 2014!

New Years

Colt and I had work and go to school on the 31st. We had thought that Colt was going to have to work on the 1st as well but he found out on the 31st that he was actually going to be able to be off for New Year's Day! We still didn't do anything though. We were asleep by 11 on New Year's Eve!! We didn't even stay up long enough to ring in the New Year. We had our New Year's kiss when we got up the next day! Is it sad that I can't even really remember what we did on New Year's Eve either?? I think we did go to Christina's for dinner that night, and then I'm pretty sure we ended up watching a movie together before we headed for bed! I am glad he was off New Year's Day with me though and we got to spend the day at home.

2012 was a great year. It seems like the years keep going faster and faster!

New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve day Colt and I went to Dallas looking around for couches. We ate lunch at On the Border while we were shopping, and after a lot of back and forth between a leather couch and a fabric couch, we ended up ordering us a new couch and oversized chair from Weir's. We went with fabric and I am pretty positive we made the right decision, for us anyways. We love it, and I'm sure I will post pics later.
We got home just in time to grab some Starbucks and head out to his mom's for a little New Year's Eve party.

It was a fun night. We just hung out, ate, sat around the fire a little and then watched the guys put on a firework show at midnight! At 10:00, I was already getting tired and ready for the countdown to begin!  As soon as we made it to midnight, Colt and I were headed home. I definitely can't stay up near as late as I used to!
Hope it is a great year for everyone! I can't believe it's already 2012!

New Year's Eve & Dog Pics

We spent New Year's Eve at the house, eating dinner and watching movies together, and playing with the dogs! We live exciting lives, but that's the way we like it!!
And here are some pics that Colt took of Lucky and Alex through the window on New Year's Day. They were both sitting by the fence and they looked like they were posing.

HAPPY NEW YEAR and 2010 FLASHBACK

Happy New Year!! I'm starting off the new year still sick, but hopefully I will get better soon and hopefully the rest of my family that has been sick all week will get better soon too! Nothing like spending a week of my vacation from work sick at home the whole week.
Here is a little flashback of some of the main things that went on in our lives in 2010. I didn't realize what a busy year we had until I started looking back on it. It was a great and a fun year for us!

In January, we went to the Cotton Bowl again to watch Gerald play, and we got to see the new Cowboy stadium.
In January, Colt also had his medical school Match Day, and we found out that he got accepted to UT-Southwestern in Dallas!
My nephew, Logan, was born.
In February, we started looking at houses closer to Dallas and decided to build in Forney.
We also received record snow for Texas in February,
and the dogs loved playing in it.

I found out that I passed all the sections of the CPA exam and officially became a CPA!
Colt bought a motorcycle in April.
Colt and Gerald had a joint graduation party at the beginning of May.

We closed and moved into our house on May 7th

Colt graduated from A&M-Commerce on May 15th!
Colt spent the majority of the summer making chess boards. He got really good at it!
Over the summer, we went to several weddings, went to Austin and floated the river and went to Lake Travis for Colt's aunt's birthday, went to Six Flags, and lots of other little things.
We had our open house at the beginning of July.
We celebrated our ONE YEAR anniversary on July 18th :) Colt was not excited about eating year old cake!
We went to Riviera Maya, Mexico in July and took both of our moms! It was a great trip, and I'm really glad we did it!

At the beginning of August, we went to Colt's orientation weekend in Glen Rose, and then he began his life as a medical student.
Colt played and won a dodgeball tournament at school, and we played on a co-ed softball team with some of his classmates and their spouses.
Colt had his White Coat Ceremony in October.
We had people over and celebrated his birthday on Halloween.
His stepdad, David, took him to the World Series.
Colt bought a projector and built him a TV screen, which he is very proud of!
We went to Utah the week before Christmas on vacation, which I will hopefully blog about in the next few days!
And we had a very Merry Christmas with our families, which I also hope to blog about in the next few days!

Can't wait to see what all 2011 has to bring for us!
