August iphone extras

Evidently we didn't do much else in August besides work. We did do a few dinners with friends and things like that, but besides going to Forney for Labor Day weekend, I think that was pretty much the extent of our outings.

This became my new favorite snack.
Strawberries, yogurt and granola - it doesn't look great in this pic but it is.
Mid-August I got my hair done for the first time in Temple... I said I wanted to grow out my hair, and when I left it was shorter than when i came in and also a little darker than I was used to! She said she only cut off what was needed but I don't think my hair was that unhealthy. Oh well… now it will just take me a little longer if I decide I want to keep growing it out.
We used to buy and love these coconut protein bars from Wodafood. We had given one to Josh's mom to taste and she came up with a recipe. This was the first time that I had attempted to make them, and they turned out pretty good. Since then I've made several more batches and gotten the recipe down.  They're super easy but now I do know why they charged so much. They aren't that cheap to make.
Now that my brother and his wife have made it facebook official, I can post this! Tenison is going to be a big brother in April!
My dogs are pretty pitiful when I'm working and they want my attention.
Sending my mom a picture of one of my new shirts that I bought from Loft for super cheap... I do some of her shopping so after she approved, I got her one ordered and shipped to her house!
Just another day in the office... They would be disappointed if I quit working from home that's for sure!
A couple pics from Colt's phone
He wasn't able to sit down and eat a lot so hopefully stocking up on protein bars helped a little!
Everything he bought in preparation for Josh's bachelor party… I think they definitely had enough ammunition!

Labor Day Weekend in Forney

Colt got off on August 29th at 2am, and he was off all day on both the 30th and the 31st. He doesn't get a lot of days off in a row so we decided to head to his parents and visit them for Labor Day weekend. After he napped for a little while when he got off on Friday morning, we headed to Forney.  It was the first time we had been back since we moved. One thing we missed there was our old eating places. Before we even went to his parent's house, we stopped at Cowboy Chicken and grabbed lunch. I had told a lot of people from work that I would stop by so I dropped Colt off at his mom's, and shortly after, I headed into Dallas. I definitely don't miss that drive. Colt didn't want me to go because he knew I would end up staying longer than just an hour or two, and he was right. I didn't get back to their house until around 6 I don't think. It was good to get to visit with everyone though, and meet some of the new staff that had started since I left. Friday night Dede cooked us dinner, and we watched The Other Woman. Since it was our first time back in Forney, it was also our first time to be back at our old house since they had moved in. I thought it would be a little weird, but it was actually really homey and comfortable. Going to bed was a little odd since we were in the spare bedroom instead of the master, and our dogs were a little confused. They tried to go to bed in the master bedroom instead of with us!

One of  my "must dos" of the trip was to get my fix for mexican food! Saturday morning Dede had to go into work for a little while, but when she got home, the four of us went to Rockwall and ate lunch at On the Border. It was oh so good! Unfortunately since Colt was fighting getting sick, he couldn't really taste it and didn't have much of an appetite. After lunch, we headed to Home Goods, and I did a little shopping. I found a lot of good stuff that I ended up completing our master bedroom with in the new house.  The rest of the day, we lounged at the house. Since Colt had been working so much and also wasn't feeling that great, we just did some much needed relaxing. I think we did end up watching Act of Valor on Saturday night. Sunday we relaxed a little more before we headed home around dinner. Before we left, Dede wanted to snap some pics so here's a few pics before we headed home.
On our way out of town, we made one more of our old restaurants and grabbed food at Oscar Delta before the trip home. It was a fun weekend, and it was good to go to our old home for a visit!

Erin Condren Planner

After the move, my Plum Paper planner that I had ordered the past couple of years got a little flimsy and since I would be working from home, I figured the extra weight of the Erin Condren planner wouldn't matter since I wouldn't be hauling it around so much… so I reverted back to the Erin Condren planner and ordered me one that started in July of this year and goes for 18 months. I couldn't wait for it to come in!
This is what I had ordered.
However, when it came in, my instructions for hot pink letters only were mistaken for pink dots only, and I really wasn't a fan and was disappointed with it.
After I contacted them, they gave me store credit and since they have interchangeable covers now, I was able to order me a whole new design that I love even more than my original one. I think the black would've ended up showing scratches too easily.
Here's my new cover that I love. I got the candy lace design, but instead of the default mocha, I got a light gray and I love how it turned out.
One weekend when Colt was working a night shift, I got out my colored pens and stayed up late filling out my planner while watching Lifetime movies and drinking coffee! Writing in my planner and making it all colorful is one of my favorite things to do! I just wish it would stay that neat as the year goes on!

Twin Bridge CrossFit Grand Opening

On Saturday, August 2nd, I went back to Chris and Leslie's gym that morning for their grand opening. Colt couldn't go because he had just gotten off that morning at 7am and was in bed. A few more people that we had met at our old gym came down for the grand opening as well.  Brittney, Buddy, Amber Polk and her husband, Jackie, were all there. After the workout, I hung out with them for a little while, and they talked me into going home to get Colt and coming back later that night. After I got home and got ready, Colt and I headed back to Chris and Leslie's house, and we ended up at George's again for drinks and food.
We had a couple of tables so I couldn't get everyone... but I tried.
Girl pic of me, Les, Brittney and Amber
Of course I had to take a guy pic too.

July iphone extras

My favorite… I don't really like chocolate but these are the best! I bought them and they were gone within a few days. Colt ate the last few just to keep me from eating anymore.
One day while I was working, Alex obviously decided that she would be sneaky and go make herself comfortable in our bed. Just a little obvious that the bed that I made that morning ended up looking like this.
Towards the end of June and during July I worked out at the Field House with Whitney, Alicia, Kacie, and Anna doing HITT classes two nights a week and on a few Saturday mornings.

On July 11th, Hillary from work came to town to visit her family and we made plans to meet up for dinner. I invited Brianna as well, and the three of us went to the Good Life in Belton. It was great to see Hillary and catch up a little bit while she was here.
Wearing one of my favorite shirts that I bought this past summer. I have it in two colors and debated getting it in even more colors… and trying to curl my shorter hair really makes me miss it being long!
I thought this was funny… but no I couldn't!
Random mani and pedi
A pic from Colt's phone… He ordered us a speaker and of course he had to test it out in the sink and verify that it was indeed waterproof!

Darryl Dodd Concert at Schoepf's

On the last day of July, Whitney, Tina and I had a little girls night out that Thursday and went to one of the summer concerts at Schoepf's. Daryl Dodd was playing. I think I was the only one that had heard of any of his songs. I think the guys definitely had a thing for Tina! She kept getting asked to dance. After using every excuse you can think of and even trying to show them her "moves" to run them off, she finally caved and tried it out. I think it was definitely an experience for Tina. She's from Missouri, and evidently they don't do as much two steppin' there as in Texas. We didn't stay too long but we had fun doing a little people watching.

Twin Bridges CrossFit and George's

Colt was off the weekend of July 26th and 27th. Since we hadn't been to visit Chris and Leslie yet, our old neighbors that went to CrossFit Forney with us, we decided to drive to Waco/Hewitt to check out their new gym, Twin Bridges CrossFit.  They had a free community workout that Saturday morning so we went up for that. After the workout, we watched a little of the CrossFit games on TV and then went to a late lunch at George's.
Colt and I had never been to George's before so we were told we had to order "the big O." It was just a big cold glass with the beverage of your choice like pictured below. Colt also ordered the chicken fried steak. The lady asked if he wanted the full order or the half. He said he wanted the full order... so of course Chris immediately changed his order from the half to the full because he couldn't let Colt order more food than him! When we got out food, Colt realized he definitely should've ordered the half. The full order was two huge chicken fried steaks, and he could only finish one of them. We hung out with them at George's for a few hours before we headed home. I had forgot how crazy they were! We definitely can't hang! I think they even stayed a few more hours after we left.
