Weekend in Austin: April 15th-17th

One of the residents, Bryce, got married in Austin on April 16th. Us, along with some of our friends, decided to just make a weekend out of it and stay in Austin both Friday and Saturday night. It was a fun little getaway, and Kinley did great on our first little trip (not to visit family)!

That Friday, the 15th, after Colt got back from his meeting in Waco, we loaded up and dropped off the dogs at a pet resort before heading out of town. We've always left them with one of our parents so it was our first time to ever board them. They had their own little doggie cottage so I'm sure they were just fine!

We got to Austin later than everyone else so by the time we made it, it was time for dinner. We unloaded at the hotel and then met everyone downstairs to go to Moonshine Bar and Grill. Everyone else's plan was to take taxis. However, when you need a carseat, that makes it a little more difficult. We drove and met everyone else at the restaurant. It took us a while to find parking. Ultimately, we handed our keys over to a man in a parking lot... all the while Colt was hoping he was really parking our car and not stealing it! Haha. The wait at the restaurant was a bit ridiculous. I think we waited for a couple of hours before we were seated, and that isn't easy with a baby. Colt and I were regretting our decision to come a night early for a little while. Once we were seated, Kinley put on a show for everyone in the restaurant. At one point, she was turned around in her highchair. When Colt and I looked back, every single person in the restaurant was playing with her because she was waving and telling everyone hi (in her sweet little voice).

We aren't bad parents if we let our baby dance on the bar right?! This was during that long wait that I mentioned above. We were doing everything to entertain her.
After dinner, a lot of the guys were wanting to go to Rainey Street to meet up with the groom. The other two girls that were with us were pregnant so they went back to the hotel along with me while Colt reluctantly went out with the guys. Matt and Colt walked back to the hotel pretty early. He blamed it on me that he had to go out at all... he would rather have been sleeping! He did get a video of Bryce dancing though which I'm sure might find its way to the roast at the end of the year when the guys graduate.

Saturday morning, some of the group slept in. When everyone was up and moving, we headed to Rosa's for lunch. Then since we did have two pregnant girls on board, we hit up a baby store before heading back to the hotel for naps.

Kinley was obviously pooped out.
After our nap, we took Kinley for her very first swim down in the hot tub. Of course our friends came down to watch her swim for the first time too. She's a water baby and loved it! Whitney actually gave Kinley her first little swimsuit that she wore.

Here's a couple of little videos of Kinley's first swim.

The wedding on Saturday night was at a place called Chateau Bellevue. It was a beautiful wedding. Kinley was pretty quite for the most part, but right when Bryce and Pam were saying their vows, she burped really loud. A few people in front of us heard it and started laughing.

Our group picture of all of us...Kinley was the only baby in our bunch. If this was today, she would have two more little friends, Witten and Olive, there with her!
Kinley had her own seat at the reception.

Alicia didn't get to come to the wedding so Robb wanted a picture with Kinley to send to her.
James and Jessica sat at our table. They were a fairly new couple at the time. I think this may have actually been their first picture together... and of course Colt (and Kinley) had to jump in it.
We also took a family picture in the photo booth.
Along with a group pic of everyone that was around and paying attention.
We didn't stay at the wedding too late. We left probably around the time it started to get crazy.
Sunday we had planned on going to Franklin's BBQ with everyone on our way out of town. Colt drove up and saw the line that was already forming and decided it wasn't worth it... so our little family headed home. I'm glad we did too. It was rainy, and it was also nice to get home at a decent time to get back in our routine.
I'm glad we decided to hang out and make a weekend out of it!

10 months old

Kinley turned 10 months old on April 12th. Unfortunately, I didn't write down any stats or notes for a 10 month update. I have my 9 month and 11 month updates, so I'll blame it in on the April tax deadline that month!
Here are her 10 month pictures though that are pretty dang cute!!

Week 44: April 9th-15th

April 9th
Kinley playing with the pinwheel that we got while we were at Lowe's. The pinwheel didn't last until the 4th of July.

She likes the pack 'n play folded up but not being in it. She also likes to play and lay all over Alex.

Grandma bought her a new swing for outside. We need to move it to the tree in the front yard so that she can use it again.
On April 12th, Kinley turned 10 months old. Of course I took her monthly photos, and I will post them in a separate post.
On the 15th, after Colt went to a meeting at Providence in Waco, we dropped the dogs off and headed to Austin for Bryce and Pam's wedding and a little weekend getaway. I will post about the weekend in a separate post too. It was a fun one!

A few videos from Week 44:
Kinley couldn't find her dad, and when he jumped out, he scared her.

Family Pictures: Kinley 9 months

I wanted to get professional pictures again of Kinley around 9 months old since she was changing so much.  We scheduled a little family session on April 3rd with Nolan Creek Photography. I can't recommend Nolan Creek Photography enough. The Fraziers tag team as husband and wife and also bring along their 3 little girls. Colt actually knew the husband, Kyle, because he is a dentist that Colt works with and consults pretty often.  Unlike most photographers that just edit a few images, Katy gives you just about every image edited on a disc. She also gives you sneak peaks that same night and delivers the disc to you within about a week. I'm not sure how she does it! They are the sweetest, super affordable, and do an excellent job! They are actually taking our pictures again at the end of this week.

At the very beginning of this photo session, Kinley fell off the ottoman and landed face first in the grass! She skinned her face up pretty good. I thought that it might be the end of the session, but she recovered. Luckily, they were able to reduce some of the redness on her cheek and by her eye! She also ended up gagging and throwing up during the session. Out came leaves that she had evidently ate while getting her picture taken.

I couldn't really narrow them down, so here are several pictures from our little photo session. These are some of my favorite pictures of Kinley
I'm pretty sure she fell off the ottoman right after this picture was taken... which is the reason why this is the last one of her sitting on it!
If you look in these, you can tell her little face is red and her eyes are still watery from crying.

We have this one blown up to a canvas. It's my absolute favorite! Plus, it shows her couple of teeth that she on bottom then.
We got some great family pics too.
I love these of her with her Daddy.
Kinley was pretty much over pictures by this time and out of smiles.
Although she did throw out a couple more smiles for us before her serious faces.
I love these too even though she does have a serious face.
