One of the residents, Bryce, got married in Austin on April 16th. Us, along with some of our friends, decided to just make a weekend out of it and stay in Austin both Friday and Saturday night. It was a fun little getaway, and Kinley did great on our first little trip (not to visit family)!
That Friday, the 15th, after Colt got back from his meeting in Waco, we loaded up and dropped off the dogs at a pet resort before heading out of town. We've always left them with one of our parents so it was our first time to ever board them. They had their own little doggie cottage so I'm sure they were just fine!
We got to Austin later than everyone else so by the time we made it, it was time for dinner. We unloaded at the hotel and then met everyone downstairs to go to Moonshine Bar and Grill. Everyone else's plan was to take taxis. However, when you need a carseat, that makes it a little more difficult. We drove and met everyone else at the restaurant. It took us a while to find parking. Ultimately, we handed our keys over to a man in a parking lot... all the while Colt was hoping he was really parking our car and not stealing it! Haha. The wait at the restaurant was a bit ridiculous. I think we waited for a couple of hours before we were seated, and that isn't easy with a baby. Colt and I were regretting our decision to come a night early for a little while. Once we were seated, Kinley put on a show for everyone in the restaurant. At one point, she was turned around in her highchair. When Colt and I looked back, every single person in the restaurant was playing with her because she was waving and telling everyone hi (in her sweet little voice).
We aren't bad parents if we let our baby dance on the bar right?! This was during that long wait that I mentioned above. We were doing everything to entertain her.
After dinner, a lot of the guys were wanting to go to Rainey Street to meet up with the groom. The other two girls that were with us were pregnant so they went back to the hotel along with me while Colt reluctantly went out with the guys. Matt and Colt walked back to the hotel pretty early. He blamed it on me that he had to go out at all... he would rather have been sleeping! He did get a video of Bryce dancing though which I'm sure might find its way to the roast at the end of the year when the guys graduate.
Saturday morning, some of the group slept in. When everyone was up and moving, we headed to Rosa's for lunch. Then since we did have two pregnant girls on board, we hit up a baby store before heading back to the hotel for naps.
Kinley was obviously pooped out.
After our nap, we took Kinley for her very first swim down in the hot tub. Of course our friends came down to watch her swim for the first time too. She's a water baby and loved it! Whitney actually gave Kinley her first little swimsuit that she wore.
Here's a couple of little videos of Kinley's first swim.
The wedding on Saturday night was at a place called Chateau Bellevue. It was a beautiful wedding. Kinley was pretty quite for the most part, but right when Bryce and Pam were saying their vows, she burped really loud. A few people in front of us heard it and started laughing.
Our group picture of all of us...Kinley was the only baby in our bunch. If this was today, she would have two more little friends, Witten and Olive, there with her!
Kinley had her own seat at the reception.

Alicia didn't get to come to the wedding so Robb wanted a picture with Kinley to send to her.
James and Jessica sat at our table. They were a fairly new couple at the time. I think this may have actually been their first picture together... and of course Colt (and Kinley) had to jump in it.
We also took a family picture in the photo booth.
Along with a group pic of everyone that was around and paying attention.
We didn't stay at the wedding too late. We left probably around the time it started to get crazy.
Sunday we had planned on going to Franklin's BBQ with everyone on our way out of town. Colt drove up and saw the line that was already forming and decided it wasn't worth it... so our little family headed home. I'm glad we did too. It was rainy, and it was also nice to get home at a decent time to get back in our routine.
I'm glad we decided to hang out and make a weekend out of it!
