Jacob's Graduation - May 25th

It's hard to believe that my nephew is already old enough to graduate from high school! It seems like he should still be a little boy.
He graduated on May 25th on a Friday night.
We met beforehand to eat Mexican food in Mt. Vernon.
Nadine, Lily, Logan, Joe, Jacob, Mom, me, Colt and my Dad
Jacob
The valedictorian during his speech. His speech was very interesting. I thought he was acting out something out of Harry Potter in the beginning but then his speech stayed that way the whole time. It was well written but definitely different.
I don't think anyone could help but laugh. Even we were because we couldn't tell if he was serious or not. Unfortunately, I really don't think that was his intention.
And Maurice Holman was the guest speaker for graduation. He was in my graduating class back in 2003. He did a great job and it was good to get to see him!
The pics a little blurry.

Yay Jacob!
I am proud of him for graduating and wish him the best!

My Birthday

I turned 27 this year. It doesn't seem like I should already be 27! I am getting closer and closer to the big 3-0. My day started off with Colt actually forgetting my birthday. I had told my mom the night before that I thought he would forget because he was doing crazy studying and he hadn't mentioned it. He had gotten up and started studying for Step 1 at about 5 or so the morning of my birthday, and he was studying when I left. I didn't really get upset until halfway to work when I talked to my mom and told her he forgot. Then being the emotional person that I am, I started getting a little upset. Then Colt text me something smart alec, and I text back about him forgetting my birthday. He immediately called and I was crying! I don't know why ... we don't even really celebrate big on holidays or anything.. I just got upset for some reason! He apologized over and over. When I got home, he had made me a card with highlighter and went and picked me a flower from our flowerbed which is perfect for me! We had planned on going to eat dinner that night but I had mexican food that day at lunch and didn't really feel like going out and neither did he from all his hours studying so we had Whataburger for my birthday dinner and just hung out!!
My parents had given me a card with birthday money beforehand and Colt's mom and David sent me some gorgeous flowers to my work that day. Also, some girls and I went out to lunch and work paid so that's always a plus too!

Another event that happened on my birthday was  my little fender bender in my new car that happened in the parking garage first thing that morning which I posted about here.  It was a rough start that day but it ended up being a pretty ok birthday.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, we went to visit my mom on Saturday and we went to visit Colt's mom on Sunday.

Saturday, both of my brothers and their families met for a late lunch at my parents. Everyone was there so it made a full house and it was fun. Heath cooked his amazing ribs, Jennifer brought another side and dessert, and my mom and I made her potatoes together. They never taste quite as good when I do them by myself so I did not make them ahead of time!

I didn't really get any good pics either day because I never thought about getting out my camera but I did get a couple.

And we got to see Tenison again for the first time since he was born!
And not the best pic of Jacob and my mom but at least it's a pic.
On Sunday, when we went to Colt's mom's house, David had made shrimp and jalapeño poppers and we just snacked and hung out.

We are both very thankful for our moms and hope they both had a great Mother's Day!

Lucky's 5th Birthday - May 8th

Lucky turned 5 on May 8th. It's hard to believe that I've had him that long! Colt gave him to me when he was only a few weeks old and it was one of the best gifts ever. That's when I knew he loved me :)
They didn't need any more toys so I wrapped up some treats in a clear bag for his birthday present.

He didn't really know what to do at first but he got the idea.

Lucky in one of his other spots in the house. This is probably where he spends most of his time.
Alex got treats for Lucky's birthday too.
And then they both got a little bit of milk
