Our house is becoming a house!

A lot has happened on our house in the last week or so. The slab has been poured and framing is almost done. They are supposed to finish the roof and put shingles up tomorrow but I don't know if that will still happen due to the rain. We went out there today to show his grandma and walk through another house that is completed by the same builder. All I had was my phone because I left my memory card at home so I didn't get great pics but here are a few from today. We also got to meet our new neighbors that bought the new house across the street. They another young couple and they seemed really nice so that's going to be a plus too!

Here are a few pics from a few days before on Friday when we went out there and took some pics after we heard there was more done on it.

It's exciting actually seeing everyting come together. Colt made fun of me the other night because I am already decorating it and planning out where everything is going to go!

Officially Spring Busy Season

It is offiicially Spring Busy Season at work. This past week I was one of the lucky 3 staff in the office that had to work overtime. Luckily, it was just a few more hours last week but starting today it is the real deal and mandatory Saturdays. Woo hoo! At least the days go really fast at work when you're really busy!

House Update

After we got done with Colt's program at UT Southwestern, we went to Forney to check on the status of our house and see if they had started on anything yet. They had the form boards and trenches done! It was exciting to see something on our lot and to see the form of our house!

Our Saturday - Colt's MS O Program at UT Southwestern

We went to UT Southwestern this morning for Colt's MS O Program. It was a Friday and Saturday event that they had for incoming freshman. We didn't go for the Friday part, but we went to the Saturday session. It started out with breakfast and a question and answer panel with a current medical school students and as resident. Then we went on to learn about financial aid and had another small group question and answer session.  We had lunch and we actually ended up eating next to another couple, who the girl was the cousin of my friend, Erika. Her fiance is going to medical school with Colt. It's such a small world! After lunch most of the students were going on a bus to the arts district for a few hours, which is actually basically where I work, so we went ahead and drove over there for a little while before heading home. We walked through the Dallas Arts Museum and the Nasher Sculpture Center and that was about all of the "artsy" stuff we could handle! The morning was very informational and it was really exciting to be there now that he knows he's actually going there!

CPA EXAM!

I found out on Friday morning that I passed my final section of the CPA exam so now I have officially passed all four parts! Now I just wait to get my packet in the mail to complete a few more things and paperwork and it will be official!! It was such a big relief when I found out Friday, and it is definitely going to be GREAT not having to study anymore!

And more snow

Well it just kept snowing Thursday night into Friday morning and we had even more snow. It is the most snow Dallas has seen since 1978. They recorded the record at DFW airport for the most snow in a 24 hour period at 12.5 inches of snow, and daily record of 11.2 inches on Thursday! We didn't measure quite that much at our house, but we had a lot.
These are a couple of pics from when we went out Thursday night before bed
It was up past Colt's boots in our backyard
Friday morning
It had already started to melt but Colt measured about 7 inches by our driveway
and there was about 10 still in the back of his truck
It definitely covered Lucky
He had  a little trouble trying to get out of it
Of course Alex was still loving it
and loved finding her snow covered tennis ball
and Colt just liked messing up all the neighbors pretty yards!
It was pretty while it lasted but now I am ready for warm weather!
