Colt's Birthday

Colt's birthday is on Halloween, and he turned 23 this year! I had bought him a watch a couple weeks before because he needed one for school, and I ordered him some more Under Armour pants. I ordered the wrong ones so he got them early too!
The Rangers Game 4 of the World Series was on TV that night so he invited a few people over to watch the game. Colt did a little yardwork earlier in the day while I was grocery shopping and making a German Chocolate Cake for his birthday. We had lunch with his parents and Gerald and Allison at Chili's, and then it was home to make Taco Soup for everyone for dinner. It was a busy and fun day!

He didn't want to blow out his candles.

I had to let the dogs in and put their yearly costumes on for a second. Alex wasn't cooperative at all this year. I think there was too much other stuff going on for them to be still. Lucky was a spider, and Alex was a devil again.

Nicci, Davallen and Jacob stopped by while they were trick-or-treating!
I tried to get a pic of Alex with her costume on but this is about as good as it got!
Here's a pic of them both last Halloween though!
Happy Birthday to Colt, and thanks to everyone that came over to celebrate and to watch the game!!

White Coat Ceremony

Saturday was Colt's White Coat Ceremony! Colt's grandparents, his mom and David, my parents, and Gerald and Allison all met at our house  to head to the school. I'm glad we got there early because if not... we wouldn't have had a place to sit. The ceremony lasted 4 hours. Luckily, it didn't seem like 4 hours though! It started out with the President of the University speaking (which we could have done without)! The next two speakers were Dr. Wagner and Dr. Mihalic. Then at intermission, Colt left to go line up and the actual White Coat Ceremony started. They came in one by one with their colleges to drum "tribal type" music, like when they were at orientation and found out what colleges they were in. It was really neat. I have it on video but I couldn't get it to upload on here. Colt is in Sprague College so his group received their white coats last. It's crazy how much different they all look in their white coats!

Here is a group pic before the ceremony

Afterwards, we all went to Salt Grass to eat and celebrate Colt getting his White Coat and his Birthday! It was a fun day, and I am so proud of him!

Softball

We won our softball game a couple of weeks ago and last week we played in a playoff game. We ended up losing the playoff game so the season is over, but it was a lot of fun. Most of my pics turned out too dark or they were blurry, but here is a team pic after the last game.
And here are a few random pics from the game before the playoff game that actually did turn out.

Colt's Small Group

Last week before our softball game, Colt's small group was getting together at one of the girl's apartments to practice their physical exams.  I went along and read while they were practicing. We went and picked up Jack in the Box for everyone and some of the girls in his group made cupcakes.
Here is a group pic of his small group. This is the group that he shares the same mentor with and they have what they call colleges where they get together once a week with their mentor.
