Remainder December in Photos

This is my last post for 2017. After this, I'll be 8 months behind. At least I'll be in the current year! 

December 3rd

This was when we had the stomach bug and hadn't been eating. Kinley and I ventured out of the house to go get a smoothie from Smoothie King. We didn't get dressed to do it though.

She was so wore out and drained from being sick. Her and I both spent the majority of the day in our bed.

Colt picked us up some Pedialyte, chicken noodle soup, and jello on his way home from work, and we attempted to eat some dinner. At the time, I don't think he knew that he was next. 

December 4th

Reading on the potty... we started with the potty a little but we ended up putting it on the back burner until later on.

December 7th

I had a hair appointment. One of the ladies from MOPS, Kim, ended up watching Kinley for me. She sent me this pic while I was at my appointment. If I remember correctly, they were glued to Trolls Holiday on Netflix. 

December 9th

Colt was working in Sulphur Springs. The dogs were more than happy to make themselves comfortable in our bed while he was gone. 

Kim hosted a Pancakes and Pajamas playdate out at her house in Arp.

December 11th

December 12th

December 13th

Kinley before her first dentist appointment. Minnie had to ride with us in the car. I scheduled a dentist appointment for her so I could try to knock some things out before Cutler arrived. It was a little bit of a waste of time. I should've probably waited another year before I took her.

The dentist we went to had rocket ships and games in the waiting area. 

While there were kids crying in the same room as us, she definitely didn't mind the dentist looking at her teeth! Everyone thought she was so cute, especially the receptionist when we were leaving, and she ate up all the attention. 

After the dentist, we went for a playdate over at Carolyn's with my MOPS group. Then we took a late nap. She was still asleep that night at 6:30. 

Because of her late nap, we had dinner and then we went and looked at a few Christmas lights around town. 

Here's a video of her reaction to Christmas lights. Everytime we would leave the house at night during the holidays, she would get so excited about all the houses around us that had lights up. She would go on and on while we were in the car both on the way to somewhere and back. She also had a plastic snake in the car with her that Colt had bought as a prank for David. David hates snakes. She goes on and on about that in the video too.

I love this video. I was telling her that her Daddy was a doctor, and she was arguing with me that Kinley was a doctor. Finally, she says Kinley doctor too!

All of those animals that Blake filled Colt's truck up with. This is a picture of all of them. We're good on stuffed animals at our house!

December 27th

Grandma got Kinley these pajamas for Christmas. She wanted to wear them all the time for a while. They were footed. She always ended up getting hot in them. They were a little bit of a pain. I  might've ended up hiding them.

That's a wrap for 2017. Cutler has been up every few hours for a while now so I'm off to bed to hopefully get some sleep before he wakes up!

New Back Porch & Backyard Improvements

We recently decided to make the plunge and put a pool in our backyard. Just in time for them to start digging and changing things again next week, here are some pictures of our new back porch addition that we had built in November, as well as some projects that Colt did in the backyard during November, December and a little bit of January. 

Because of our roofline, our addition turned out much larger than we anticipated. We love it though and have definitely used our backyard more since we got it.

One of Colt's projects was building a place to put our grill. He ended up doing the countertops out of concrete. 

Here's a pic of how smooth they turned out.

He added two ceiling fans and lighting.

He decided to build the doors out of leftover blocks of wood pieced together.

He bought this fountain off of Facebook marketplace. I went with him to get it. It took a whole crew to load it in his truck. We were definitely low riding on the way to our house. Somehow, him and Josh lifted it all and managed to get it in our backyard for him to cleanup and then got it setup on our back porch. 

I had major doubts about this project. After he cleaned it up, it actually turned out pretty good. I guess I should learn not to doubt him. He already got rid of it though! He mainly got it for the sound of the water. Since we decided to get a pool, he let his mom have it this past week. 

Colt's mom had bought him a mini fridge for Christmas. It wouldn't fit in the spot in our media room so he put it outside and built a shelf around it along with a spot for a trashcan. He made the countertop for it out of concrete too.

Colt also bought some outdoor furniture off of Facebook. It was a little bit of a fail. We couldn't go look at it because it was in Dallas. Colt's mom went and picked it up for us. When we ended up with it, the cushions were older looking than we expected. Plus, the coffee table was broken completely. We've since replaced the cushions. In hindsight, we wouldn't have bought it, but it works and looks good with the new cushions.

Now that everything is about to get an overhaul in our backyard, I'm sure updated pictures will be coming down the road!
