CF Sprag

After we moved to Temple, I decided I wouldn't join a CrossFit gym. Instead, I got a cheap membership with Colt at the Field House right up the road. At the end of June and during July, I worked out there and did some HITT classes two nights a week with some girls here. The classes were at 7 pm though so I felt like by the time I made it home, we would have a late dinner and then it was time to get showered and go to bed. I also tried a week free at a gym called T3. I did a couple of bootcamp classes, and I even tried hot yoga one day. It was only the second time I've ever done yoga, and it confirmed that I'm not really a yoga person! During that time, I tried a free Saturday at CrossFit Centex in Belton and a couple free Saturdays at CrossFit Sprag in Belton.
In August, I broke down and joined CrossFit Sprag because I missed CrossFit.

Here are some random Facebook pics from CrossFit Sprag. I decided to do the 6 am classes because I like getting it knocked out early before work.
I can usually do pull-ups just fine but a ton of strict ones in a workout, no thanks!
One of my least favorite things to do is wall balls. I'm just not a fan at all!
I'm pretty sure I had just found out I was pregnant in this one.
And I was definitely newly pregnant in this one.
I have continued to workout since I've been pregnant, well at least when I actually get up and get to the gym. I told my trainer when I was only about 5 weeks along or so. Since then I've modified a few workouts for certain things and I quit really maxing out on the lifts.

The first few months after I joined and even the first few months after I found out I was pregnant, I was doing great at getting to the gym. However, here lately I haven't been going as much. I didn't go for two weeks while I was sick with a cold and then I've been doing good lately to make it once/twice a week. I haven't went three times a week in a while and that is what I pay for… so you can say I've been wasting money.

We were spoiled at CrossFit Forney by being grandfathered in at the initial members rate and also having the luxury of having an unlimited membership. Everywhere around here is more money per month, and you also pay for a certain number of x's per week. I currently pay for 3x's a week. On Friday's my gym doesn't have actual classes (unless you pay extra open gym rates) so really I have to get to the gym my three x's Monday-Thursday.

Since we are loooking at our budget closer and I feel like I've been throwing money down the drain lately by not going, even though I love the gym and the workouts, I am considering cancelling my membership in February. I will continue doing CrossFit type workouts with a little more cardio I think, I will just be doing it on my own at least for a while. I think it will be better for me too right now because then I can pick and choose my workouts to what I feel comfortable doing.

More September & iphone extras

According to my planner (since it's been months), here are a few other things that we did in September… we attended a cookout at Anna's one night, one weekend Matt and Whitney came over and ate tacos before we headed to the movies to see the Equalizer, I went with Whitney and Alicia the next day to Salado to shop the little boutiques and then we all had dinner at Corona's in Belton that night, and Colt also took his Step 3 exam in Austin on September 29th and 30th. I'm sure we did more but that is all that made it to my planner!

Here are also some pics that were on my iphone from the month of September.

Colt stained our back porch on one of his days off. It didn't turn out exactly like he planned but it still looks good.

Visiting Family in September

Yes, it is now almost the end of January 2015 and I am still blogging September 2014!
After Josh and Brianna's wedding, we went and stayed with my family a few nights.
We got to see my parents' new car for the first time. My dad decided he needed a Corvette I guess!

Monday, Colt worked on lifting his truck and my mom cooked one of my favorites, pork chops, for dinner.
Since my dad was working in the mornings, on Tuesday, the rest of us ran to Pittsburg to get Colt's oil changed at the dealership. While we were waiting, Heath picked us up so we got to hang out with him and Tenison for a couple hours. We went and played at the park and then grabbed some mexican food for lunch. That evening, we had Lily's birthday party at my parents house.
On the way home from visiting my family, we stopped and stayed with Colt's family another night.
Lucky relaxing on Colt's parents' couch… He has no regard for anyone but himself! He was comfortable and probably had not idea that he was laying on top of Bambi.

Diviney Wedding

Josh and Brianna's wedding was in Dallas on Sunday, September 21st. We headed to Forney on Saturday to stay the night with Colt's parents. I look forward to going to Forney and eating at our old restaurants so we made a lunchstop at Oscar Delta.

Josh and Brianna didn't have a formal rehearsal and rehearsal dinner planned but their families and the wedding party met for dinner at Gloria's in Rockwall.
The wedding was at the Filter Building around White Rock Lake. We woke up early on Sunday and headed there to help Josh's family decorate and get everything setup before the wedding.

Friends from UT-Southwestern - Refugio, Josh and Colt
and another group shot with David...I had something on my phone camera lens so Colt has a black mark on his nose in all of the group shots I took of them.
The wedding was at 11 that morning and then they had a brunch reception and dancing. Here are a few pics that I snapped on my phone and stole off of Facebook of the wedding and reception.

Josh's Bachelor Party

Due to my lack of blogging and being WAY behind, I am back to September, making yet another attempt to catch up. It seems like I've been WAY behind the whole year of 2014.

Colt had Josh's bachelor party on Saturday, September 13th. Refugio and Josh got to our house fairly early and they headed out to one of Josh's friends house, David's, in Florence for a day of fun.
I posted this pic in a previous post but this is the ammunition they had for the day.
They basically spent the day on David's land blowing things up with tannerite and shooting guns.
The bachelor
And my husband
It probably isn't the typical bachelor party, but they had a good time!
They ended up heading to our house to hang out by the fire for the rest of the night. On their way home, they wanted me to go pick up some drinks for them. I ended up buying more than requested because it was on sale… so what happened the rest of the night, they blamed on me since I bought more than they told me to!
It was a tax deadline weekend so I was working most of the night until they kept coming in and interrupting me, and Colt randomly invited a couple more people over. I'll spare you the details, but they were definitely entertaining to say the least. They all ended up staying the night here but only one of them made it to a bedroom. One was on the couch and a couple, including my husband, slept outside for a lot of the night. Colt did end up in bed later when he knew all the guys were taken care of. I think they had such a good time they were regretting it the next morning, and I know at least a couple of them took a while to recover.
The aftermath - They did manager to burn away almost the entire old tree stump.

We're Having a Baby!

We are excited to announce that Baby Smithson
will be here by July!

Our expected due date is around July 8th so I am a little over 13 weeks now!

It has been hard to keep our news a secret! We shared with our immediate family in October within the week or so after we found out. Then other than a couple of our close friends, we waited until Christmas to share the news with anyone else. We announced to our close family and friends with our Christmas card. I just waited until last minute to send them out so I would be about 12 weeks when everyone got them in the mail. I also shared with two of the partners at work the week of Christmas because I didn't want them finding out through the grapevine. As far as social media goes, I was originally planning on waiting until at least New Year's to share. However, it ended up on Facebook the day after Christmas so I just went with it and went ahead and shared that day with the rest of the world.

A lot of people weren't aware, but we had been trying for a while so I will post about our little journey leading up to getting pregnant and the rest of our pregnancy journey so far (when I also get caught up on the whole last 4 months or so of 2014)! Luckily, besides just being tired all the time, I've had a pretty easy pregnancy so far and I'm grateful for that!
