Meeting Big Sister and the Rest of the Grandparents

Dede, David and my dad had been at the house with Kinley during Cutler's birth. Once I got settled in a room, they all came up and joined us at the hospital to meet him for the first time. On the way up to the room, Dede took Kinley to the gift store, and Kinley picked me out a present all by herself.  She picked me out a St. Christopher necklace. She kept saying, "You like it? Present for you at doctor's office." It's funny that she picked a St. Christopher because my dad used to wear one all the time. It's now on a necklace with other charms. Every time I wear it she talks about how she got it for me.

They didn't get up to the hospital until around 8 that night. Visiting hours were almost over and Kinley was already pretty tired so they didn't get to stay long.  I wish I could've known what Kinley was thinking when she met him. She said he was cute and wanted to tickle him. I don't think she liked the idea of me having to stay the night at the hospital though. My parents headed home after they left the hospital. Dede and David went to our house and put Kinley to bed. Evidently Kinley kept saying "Mommy, Daddy at doctor with baby brother." Sweet girl! I know Dede was a little disappointed that she wasn't there for the whole time for Cutler's birth, but we thought that would've been too long for Kinley to sit at the hospital and needed someone to stay at the house with her.

These were the first pics we got of Kinley meeting Cutler for the first time. This was the first time for Grandma to meet him too.
Papa holding Cutler for the first time... my Dad doesn't hold babies until they get a little bigger. I think he's scared of them! He didn't hold Kinley at first either.
I don't remember why we were so upset or maybe just sleepy.
Our attempt at our first picture as a family of 4. Not too bad considering it was about 9:15 that night!
This was my present that Kinley brought me.
Colt's mom later got me the necklace below with both Kinley and Cutler's names on it. I added the St. Christopher from Kinley to it. I love it.

Cutler's Birth

I previously posted Cutler's birth story. I won't repeat everything that I wrote in his birth story. I'll mainly just put pictures on this post, but he was born on February 7th at 4:46 p.m. He was 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 21 inches long. I can't believe that this was 7 months ago.

This was Colt while I was in labor. He also went down and ate both breakfast and lunch.

After about an hour, the nurses took him for me for just a bit.
Proud Daddy
He wasn't quite 3 hours old in this picture.
First time to be held by Giggy... my mom was in the room during his birth so she got to meet him a few hours before everyone else did. Colt left for a bit to go spend some time with Kinley and give her some attention. My mom stayed with me and helped get me moved into a room when it was ready.
"Birth" days are so special and memories that I will cherish forever!

Last Few Days As A Family of Three

Besides Kinley and I going to Ijump a few days before Cutler arrived, here's a little more of what we were up to those last few days before Cutler joined our family.

February 3rd, the Saturday before Cutler was born, we decided to go to Canton. We almost didn't go since I was 39 weeks pregnant, but we figured a little walking might help the process along. Plus if we didn't go, we were just going to be sitting at the house all day. We met Colt's parents there and looked around for a bit.

We found the table below as soon as we got there. We weren't in Colt's truck though so he had to go back and get it the next day. Good thing we live close. Since this picture was taken, we've added some things on top of it. It's also full of all of Kinley's books and some of her toys. It was definitely a good purchase in the storage department.
 February 4th
Minnie Mouse, with her blue gloves on and shoes on the wrong feet, cooking me food... this was a daily occurrence for a while. She would want me to go in her room while she served me meals.
February 5th
This was our last pregnancy pic. This particular day, we stayed in our pajamas most of the day. They weren't actually my pajamas, it was just whatever I could still fit in at the time. That day I asked Kinley if she wanted to put on clothes though, and she said, "No, jamas, jama party, clap, clap, clap!" And if you aren't familiar, there is an episode of Mickey Mouse where they have a jama party!
We did end up getting dressed at some point during the day.
Daddy took her to play in a dirt pile on one of the empty lots in our neighborhood. I'm not real sure why she was barefoot.
Minnie obsessed... she was decked out in her Minnie pajamas with her Minnie sunglasses, phones and bag ready to watch a show in our room before bedtime. We were more than likely going to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse too.
February 6th was Kinley's last day as an only child. We knew that if I didn't go into labor that day on my own that I would be induced early the next morning. I was excited and nervous to welcome Cutler to our family the next day. I also wanted to soak in every minute with my girl. I wanted the day to be special for her since it was her last day before she had to share mommy and daddy. We went to Chick-fil-a for breakfast. After we ate, Daddy left and we stayed and played on the playground for a bit.
She's an expert at puzzles... seriously.
This was that night before bed, our last night of her being the only one that I had to take care of. She didn't understand... but it was special for me and I loved on her a little extra.

Ijump

February 2nd, we went to Ijump for a playdate. The night before, based on what had happened to me before having Kinley, I had thought there was a possibility that we might be having a baby that day. When I woke up with no progress or change that morning, we went to play.
Kinley enjoyed the playground area way more than the trampoline area. At the time, she was just short enough that she needed a boost up... so my almost 39 week pregnant self had to keep going in and out to give her a boost!
This was post-playdate. At least one of us was definitely wore out and a little puffy!
Kinley waiting on Colt to get home from work that night.
I saved this video because I loved her voice saying "I'm coming Mommy!"
