Limo Rides and Mimosas on a Wednesday

We were probably one of very few driving around Temple in a Limo on a Wednesday morning at 7am!

The night before, we had all met up for pedicures and manicures at Tulips here in town. Alicia didn't know that this outing had a reason behind it though and was in preparation of something bigger.

I think this is about the longest my real nails have ever been so I had to take a picture! 

Wednesday morning, July 23rd, to be exact, we were told to show up at Robb and Alicia's house around 7. We were to act clueless and just help her start packing. The limo driver had knocked on her door before we ever got there with a box. I think she was so shocked that a random person was knocking on her door, that she just grabbed the box and slammed the door in his face. Once she opened the box, there was a backpack in it and a note telling her to start packing. I think it was supposed to look just like a surprise vacation that Robb had planned for her. She didn't know what or how long she was even packing for. She definitely didn't know she was packing for a trip to Europe! 

After she threw some stuff in her bag, we jumped in the limo to head to Meg's for a breakfast Robb had planned. Of course, by this time, Alicia was thinking about her job that she had actually just started. She had co-workers texting her and asking her where she was.  She assumed but didn't know that Robb had already lined up her time off with them. After breakfast, we headed to Killeen to take her to the airport while sipping on mimosas. The flight from Killeen took her to Houston, and it wasn't until Houston that she met Robb and found out where they were going.

I think she had a pretty good idea that she was probably coming home engage! I mean, why else woudl you have this elaborate of a morning and a flight out of town?! I think you really never know with Robb though. He also ended up not actually proposing to her until it was almost time for them to come home! Of course, she said yes though and they wil be getting married next year!

It was definitely a fun way to start a Wednesday morning before work, and I can't imagine how fun it was for her! 

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The Nordstrom anniversary sale opened up about the time of our 5 year anniversary… so I indulged and bought myself a few anniversary presents. Yes, I set my alarm and woke up super early so that I wouldn't miss out on some items I had my eye on! This is the first time I had bought anything, but I'm a fan! I ordered a TON but because of free shipping and free return shipping, it's easy to return so I returned a lot that didn't work out. Becoming a victim to the anniversary sale was all because I read this blog called Pinterest Told Me To! She had a contest to go along with the sale. If you sent her pictures of your purchases, each picture or item was worth an entry to win $250. I had a lot of entries, but I didn't win unfortunately. My picture did end up in her collages on her blog a few times though! You should definitely check out her blog if you don't already follow it. It might not be good for your budget though. I think I had packages delivered every day for a couple weeks. Don't ask Colt how much I spent before all our returns made it back! He was so "impressed" that he called one of his buddies bragging about it! I got good deals though!

I got wallets. Out of all the ones I ordered, I ended up keeping two. I kept both the large teal travel wallet and the small pink phone wristlet below. You don't know how long I've looked for a large wallet like the teal one! Colt had bought me a Fossil one for Christmas when we first started dating, and I carried it for oh … about 8 years. It was so worn out and I desperately needed a new wallet! I kept the pink one too so that I didn't have to carry a purse everywhere, but what have I been doing?! I've been carrying them both at the same time for some reason! I think I'm just too lazy to switch out my main stuff.

I was an early enough shopper to score not only one, but a few, of the famous "blardigans." You don't want to buy this not on sale, but it was half price during the sale. I've already given my mom one, and since I work from home, I think I have literally worn it pretty much every day! If I haven't, I've used it as a blanket while sitting at my desk. I also ordered my mom one of the "must have shirts" and she loved it. I wanted it, but it didn't look good on me so it went back.

I loved the workout clothes that I bought. 

I ended up with more workout clothes than anything. They carry X-small so they fit great. I now have a new workout brand, and the deals they had on them were great.

This jacket has thumb holes which I love for the gym, and the other one below does too.  

The Zella capris were also great. I love the way they fit. This is another thing that I've wore a whole lot of since I'm working from home. I ended up keeping two different colors. I tried the pants, but they don't come in petite so they were way too long for me!

I also got another random sweatshirt that is super comfortable.

Another thing I bought was a Michael Kors watch. It was big, and I'm not used to wearing a watch so I almost didn't keep it, but I have wore this thing so much! The discounts on these were great. I don't think I would have ever forked over full price to try it out!

A few other things that I scored during the sale were some leggings and some pajamas. I also wasn't selfish. I  did order Colt some stuff too. I ordered him shoes, a jacket, workout shirts, etc., but the only two things he ended up keeping was a workout shirt and a package of socks!!

 I already plan on participating in at least a few of the sales next year! You got to think about it as how much money you saved, not how much money you spent! Seriously though, for the amount of stuff that I ended up with, I really didn't spend that much!

5 Year Anniversary

Like I said in my previous post, we celebrated our 5 year anniversary on July 18th!

That morning, like I previously said, we had breakfast with Colt's family at Meg's before they headed back home. We wanted mexican food for dinner so that night we went to one of the Sol De Jaliscos in Belton. We had been told it was one of the best and it had pretty good reviews, but it definitely wasn't! The good news is it was definitely cheap though. $11.65 for us to both eat dinner... I was a super cheap anniversary date!

 It's crazy how time flies! It doesn't seem like we've been married for 5 years, and it also doesn't seem like we met about 8 years ago. People say that marriage is hard, but I think it's pretty easy so far. Colt says the reason it's so easy is because I married him! He's hilarious! It's been fun though, and I love him more and more everyday. Even lately when I don't see him much, and when he is home, it seems like I just pick up after him and feed him occasionally because he's pretty worthless and tired (his words not mine!) , it's still good!! Looking forward to many more years with him! 

Colt's family visit and my trip home

Colt's mom and Davallen came up to see us and spend the night on Thursday, July 17th, since Colt was off that Thursday and Friday. After I got done working on Thursday, we ended up all going to Belton and watching How to Train Your Dragon 2. It was a cute movie, and it was funny watching Davallen because she was glued to the screen and giggling. After the movie, we went to dinner at Deadfish Grill on the lake. The rest of the night and the next day we just hung out at the house, visited and probably watched a movie or two too. That Friday morning (also our 5 year wedding anniversary) before they left, we went for a late breakfast at Meg's. It was fun having them here. 

That same weekend, since Colt was working all weekend and I was about to get into tax season, I headed out early on Saturday morning to make the 4 hour trip to see my family. I listened to an audiobook of Beautiful Disaster on the way there and on the trip home so the drive actually went fast and wasn't too bad! As soon as I got to my parents, we jumped back in the car and went and had lunch in town with the Fisk, who I hadn't seen in forever. Then for dinner that night my mom cooked me one of my favorites. Sunday we just spent the day at the house. Heath and Tenison came over to visit while I was there too. It's always good to see Tenison, and of course Heath too. I didn't leave their house until around dark so I got home late Sunday night about the time that Colt got off work. 

It's always good to see family. We've only seen our families one other time since this, and we're definitely due for another visit.

Lake Day

Colt was off on Sunday, July 13th, so we got to go have a Lake Day at Temple Lake Park with everyone.

After wakeboarding for a little while, we headed up to the shore and just hung out for a while. 

Colt still says that we are getting a boat second year. 

Trip to Chalk Ridge Park

Since Colt's days off in July were usually during the middle of the week, I took a random Wednesday off on July 9th to spend the day with him. The night before we went and saw Transformers and ordered Papa John's for dinner. 

Whitney had told us about Chalk Ridge Park not far from our house so on Wednesday, we woke up and headed there with the dogs for a little walk.

4th of July

For the 4th of July, we had people over to celebrate with burgers and cornhole in the backyard. The guys also played a little chess, at least Colt and Wade did, and I think we ended up watching some Independence Day on TV in the backyard as well! I actually don't think I've ever watched that movie the whole way through, and I still haven't. 

You can't do 4th of July without watermelon right? I don't like it but everyone else did.

Tina and Riley stopped by on their way to the firework show. They were definitely most patriotic for the day!

Since Colt had to work early the next day, we opted to not go to the firework show. 

Before bed I realized, we never took a pic together so we snapped one after he was already in bed. 

It was a good 4th of July with new friends! I'm glad for me that it was on a Friday this year, and I still had the rest of the weekend off!
