Y & GT Vacation Day 3 - July 18th (OUR 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY)

Day 3 was our two year anniversary! We were about a day ahead of schedule and were staying at Old Faithful Inn that night so we slept in a little and spent the day at all the little stops along the way to Old Faithful and got there right after lunch.

Gibbon Falls

I think this was all on Firehole Canyon Drive

We got another couple to take a pic of us in fron of the fall, but they completely missed us in the pic! Colt got a great pic for them though!

Bison holding up traffic

This one was going off when we happened to walk by. When it wasn't going off it looked like a swimming pool.

White Dome Geyser

We got to Old Faithful and watched it go off around 2:30. There were so many people there.
This is right when it started going off.
And this was it towards the end.
Old Faithful Inn

We stayed in one of the wings.
After we watched Old Faithful, we had lunch at the grill there and then drove out to Kepler Cascades.
I'm lucky to be married to this guy :)
We set at the cascades for a while and just relaxed before we headed back to our room for a nap and a shower.
Or at least I sat, Colt can't sit still very long.

After our nap, we had dinner at a little cafe around Old Faithful and when we got done, we happened to walk outside and a geyser was going off.
As soon as it stopped, another geyser, the Castle Geyser, started going off. Supposively this one isn't predictable and doesn't occur that often, but when it does go off, it goes off for about an hour. We both thought that it was a lot neater than Old Faithful.

We decided to just go driving around that night towards Madison and the West Entrance to see if there was any wildlife out. We didn't put on or carry any bugspray because we thought we wouldn't be out of the car. We definitely should have had the bug spray. It was miserable and we got ate up by mosquitoes.
There was a whole herd of elk at this one lake. We got out of the car but I quickly got back in. I couldn't hold the video steady because I was slapping at mosquitoes. Colt toughed it out but unfortunately most of the pics were blurry because he was moving so much too!

And these are a few more that we saw further out towards the West Entrance. Colt also took a little side road off the beaten path which kinda scared me a little because I could just picture something trying to get us and us being out there by ourselves! On the way back to the hotel we got held up for a little while by another bison that decided he wanted to take a stroll on the road in front of the cars.
Minus the mosquitoes at the end of the day....We had a great TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY, and I am so glad we got to take this trip and just be together!
