We usually celebrate Christmas on Christmas morning with Colt's family at his mom's house. This year we were heading to see my family around lunch on Christmas day so Dede decided rather than opening presents Christmas morning and us leaving right afterwards, she wanted to open presents Christmas Eve night when we got back from Tooter and Linda's house. She thought we would be less rushed. Then Christmas morning we could all eat and relax before we hit the road. We didn't get back from Tooter and Linda's house Christmas Eve night until pretty late. I think by the time we actually started opening presents it was close to 9pm. Colt and I knew starting with Kinley this late was a toss up on if it would go good or bad. If you know Colt's mom, she goes a little crazy and overboard with present. Opening presents usually takes a LONG time. Kinley was so busy that it actually went good though.
Since Kinley was the center of attention this year, presents started off with Kinley getting her car from Grandma and Papa. It was a little pink car with a remote control so that Colt and I could control it for her until she learned how. His mom started off with getting her a huge battery powered princess carriage, but Colt denied that present saying it was too big. She ended up with this one instead. It was the perfect size for her. She loved and still loves it.
Here's the video of Kinley when she got her new car.
And another video of her playing in it and checking everything out.
Kinley and her Daddy getting everything ready for a test drive and making sure her lights were on.
She would just keep waving and telling everyone "Bye."
I don't know what happened here besides that it was late... but it shows that she isn't always happy!
Blake started making Colt homemade turtles from the candy store the past few years. Of course, he immediately has to start eating them. Everyone has learned that Colt is a big fan of turtles.
Kinley had to be a big girl and help Davallen pass out all the presents to everyone.
Blake is a shoe fanatic. Him and Victoria got Kinley a new pair of Nike's. She ended up putting them on and wearing them the rest of the night. She loves shoes.
Passing out more presents while sporting her new shoes
Dede got Kinley a new toboggan that she also had to put on.
She ended up back in her car with her new toboggan, new shoes and new Cookie Monster!
Dede buys the boys all a new toy each year. This year they got remote control helicopters. Kinley had to get in on the action and thought it was fun!
We started taking group pics at 11pm. Kinley... sometimes you just gotta roll with the flow!
Dede bought herself, Kinley and Davallen all matching Christmas shirts so they could take a picture together. Davallen's ended up lost. This happened last year with Davallen and Kinley's matching outfits too! Therefore, the matching shirt pic this year ended up just being Grandma and Kinley.

Grandma and Papa
You see those presents in the background...I told you... she goes a little crazy, and her upside down tree accommodates more presents under it!
Nicci and Davallen
Nicci was expecting Dylan'Rae here but you can't really tell she's even pregnant.
Blake and Victoria
Christmas morning at Grandma and Papa's coming up next!
