Kinley's 2nd Birthday Party - The Party

Now on to the actual party to celebrate Kinley turning 2!

The birthday girl before everyone arrived
We set up Kinley's little blow up pool in the backyard for the littlest ones to play in.
Her pool was going to be our only activity really in the backyard, but Grandma and Papa went big. They bought this huge blowup water slide for Kinley's birthday present. It was definitely a party hit. The kids had a blast on it. Kinley wasn't scared of it at all either. Even though she had to get a little push to get up to the top most of the time, she loved it. I'm sure she will have even more fun playing on it this next summer.

This was just her checking it all out before the water started and everyone got there.
I don't think she was real sure what to think at first when everyone was singing Happy Birthday to her. I think she enjoyed it though and enjoyed being the center of attention!
Here is the video of her blowing out her candles.
Some of the kids eating their snacks and cake

This little table was mine when I was little. Since then, Colt has put a new top and seats on it and painted it gray. I've had multiple people ask me where I got it though. I tell them they are out of luck.

Davallen helping Kinley keep up with the big kids
Kinley was all about the water slide that day. Cohen...not so much. He spent his time in the little pool instead. This was the only time Kinley joined him, and it didn't last too long.
I had to get in on the action. Colt tested it out after the party too.
Colt, Grandma Linda, Nicci and Tooter
Drying off in her flamingo towel and playing with her balloons... she was due for her regular nap and getting sleepy.
Our best attempt at a family picture that day... she was way too busy to take a picture with us.
Birthday present time
She got entirely too much, as always.
After presents, Dad changed her and brought her back in Minnie Mouse pajamas. I think he thought she might nap soon, but that wasn't happening.
She wasn't done playing in the water though so we ended up back in another swimsuit. We went through so many outfit changes that day!

Kinley with her Gerald and Allison's little girl, Hensley
Here's a little video of Kinley telling some of the last guests, Gerald, Allison and Hensley, bye.
Can you tell she's worn out from all her partying?!
She had to check out all her new presents again before she went to bed though. I had a friend recommend this balance bike to me. My mom and dad got it for her, and it's definitely been a hit. The back wheels go in and out for when she learns how to balance. It didn't take her long at all to pick up on it, and she has rode that thing like crazy ever since she got it.
Toys galore
2 years... now it's actually been 2 1/2 since I'm so behind on post... and it's went so fast! We love our girl, and we are glad that everyone got to come to our house to celebrate her!

Kinley's 2nd Birthday Party - The Decor and the Guests

I have so many pictures from Kinley's 2nd birthday party that I'm separating this into two posts, the decorations and the actual party. Even though Kinley turned 2 on June 12th, and we celebrated on the actual day in Temple here and here, we didn't get to have her actual birthday party with friends and family until June 25th when Colt joined us in Tyler.

We had a flamingo themed party. I figured that it might be one of the last times that I got to choose the party theme. Plus, at this point, she wasn't crazy into Minnie Mouse quite yet! I think I enjoy party planning and all the little details a little too much!
Welcome to Kinley's 2nd birthday party!
I did not buy the metal flamingo. Colt's mom happened to have it already at her house and just brought it with her.
I got Kinley to put her handprint on a canvas and made a flamingo out of it. It was just a last minute thing I saw online, and I happened to already have everything at the house to do it. All the guests signed the book Sylvie for Kinley to enjoy reading in the future. I did a book at her first birthday party too, and I hope to keep doing it at future ones.
I made this wreath for the door.
Some of her 2 year pictures hung from the mantle.
I priced cakes around Tyler but after asking one of my friends, Jules, a few questions about icing tips and watching a couple of videos, I ended up making Kinley's cake and the cupcakes myself. They were simple, but I think they both turned out pretty cute!
I played around with doing the cookies myself, but ordered them instead!
Party treats for all the kids that came
Here is everyone that was able to make it to Kinley's 2nd birthday party:

Pa and Giggy
Grandma and Papa
Nicci, Davallen and Dylan'Rae
Blake and Victoria
Joe, Lily and Logan
Jacob, Bailey and Cohen
Tooter and Grandma Linda
Uncle Butch and Aunt Ann
Josh and Brianna Diviney
James and Jessica Carr along with one of James' friends that was in town for their wedding
Gerald, Allison and Hensley Harris
Our neighbors - Traci, Slay, Colt and Eva Mayo

Heath, Jennifer, Tenison and Heston were not able to make it because they were sick. I was disappointed because the boys would've had a blast playing in the backyard. Nadine wasn't able to make it either. She had a death in her family and wasn't feeling up to it.

We had a full house and a big, fun day to celebrate Kinley turning 2!

Colt's Residency Graduation

Since I'm caught up on pregnancy stuff... back to June 2017 for now. Colt's residency graduation was on June 15th. My parents kept Kinley for us, and I went down to Temple for it. At Scott & White, their graduation is not a formal graduation, at least in the Emergency department. It consists of dinner, drinks, awards and a big resident and faculty roast. I had planned on putting some of the videos of the roast on here. However, I watched them again and they are DEFINITELY inappropriate and a lot more inappropriate than I remember them being. One of the other outgoing residents, Nima, did the faculty roast and it was the best. He destroyed everyone.  Let's just say, Nima didn't hold back. Some of the stuff he said might've crossed the line a little. Hopefully everyone had tough skin. Colt probably got destroyed more in the faculty roast than he did in his own roas. Actually, I'm pretty sure Colt was brought up in EVERY single roast that was done! Colt's primary roast was about Colt and "Little Colt" aka Josh and how they ended up recruiting James into their group by the end of residency. During the night, they also made fun of Dr. Drigalla, one of the directors because of how in love with Colt he was at first. Many workout jokes were made about Colt, Josh and James. They also mentioned that they didn't know what staff was going to do with Colt leaving because they wouldn't have him there to tell them what to do all the time.  All of the roasts included pictures too. I might've given them several pictures, including the one of Colt in college when he was in Mr. Heartbreaker and was standing behind a guitar on stage and looked naked! The only problem with it is that everyone thought it was photoshopped. No, it was real! It was a fun night that ended up going until pretty late.

Dr. Drigalla and Dr. Stone actually presented Colt and Josh's certificates to them at the same time. They said it was fitting. I'm pretty sure jokes were made by the crowd about Josh being Colt's mini me. It might've resulted in Josh flipping everyone off. When they were interviewing, there was actually questions on if they were couple matching or not.
Here is the video of them getting their certificates since it is the only one that is appropriate enough for me to post.
Colt's residency class toasting to a shot or two after they all got their certificates.
This is one of the pictures from the roast. It's Dr. Drigalla with the rest of the "boy band." Colt, Josh, James and Jordan all ended up coming to Tyler to work.
Every outgoing resident from the emergency department at Scott & White gets a belt buckle when they leave.
After graduation, although we didn't stay long, we made an appearance at the after party. This is Tina, me and Jodi. While noone knew it yet but probably realized I wasn't drinking all night, I had found out just the day before that I was pregnant. Jodi was pregnant with twins. I don't know if Tina knew it yet, but she was pregnant as well. She's due just two days before me I think .
I don't know how "fun" Colt would consider residency. While it was fun, it was a lot of work for him. I'm proud of him and all he's accomplished. It took 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school and then 3 years of residency to get to this point. We had a great 3 years in Temple! While we like Tyler, we both loved living in Temple the 3 years that we were there.

There was a group picture of all the Scott & White residents taken that night. The only copy I've found online is so little that it's not clear. I know Colt has a copy somewhere so when I get it, I'll have to add it!

***UPDATE
Here's a few pictures that were taken that I didn't have when I originally posted.
This is Colt's residency class. 4, now 5, of the guys are all in Tyler now.
And here is another group photo with all 3 years of residents and the attendings.
A much better picture than I got of Colt and Josh with Dr. Drigalla and Dr. Stone.
And also a better picture than I got of their toast.

Week 34 and Week 35 Pregnancy Update

At my 34 week appointment this past Thursday, I weighed 155 lbs. and was up 33 lbs. from my pre-pregnancy weight. At my 33 week appointment with Kinley, I was up 30 lbs, and at my 35 week appointment with Kinley, I was up 38 with her. I was a lot more swollen and retained a lot of water that last week with her.  Overall, I would say even though I feel a lot bigger this time, my weight gain so far is about the same.

My blood pressure at my appointment was ok. His heart beat was good. My belly was measuring right on track at 34.5 cm.

I looked back and Kinley made her arrival at 35 weeks, 3 days per the doctor and hospital. I thought I was actually a few days ahead and closer to 36 weeks based on when we were doing fertility shots though. I even took my 36 week picture with Kinley thinking I was right and the doctor was wrong.

Basically at my appointment this past Thursday, my doctor said that if my water broke, it was go time and they wouldn't stop anything. I have two more hydroxyprogesterone shots that I have to take today and next Monday to get me to 36 weeks. After that, we can finally quit doing the weekly shots though! I hate them, and Colt hates giving them to me because they are so thick that they take him forever to draw up.

When I go back for my next doctors appointment, I will be 36 weeks, 4 days pregnant, which is an appointment that I never made it to with Kinley. I'm  supposed to get my Group B strep test that appointment. Since I didn't make it that far with Kinley, I had to be given an antibiotic in the hospital just in case. After that appointment, I go to weekly appointments.

While I'm hoping that he holds out a few more weeks, I wouldn't mind him coming just a tiny bit early, like may 38 or 39 weeks. Since we're expecting an early baby though, my guess is that he'll stay in there the full 40 weeks!

Here's a look back at week 34 of my pregnancy with Kinley.
34 weeks

35 weeks
And that gets my current on my pregnancy pics because today I am 35 weeks, 2 days! Cutler's room is coming along. Colt built me one of the two projects for his room yesterday. A outfit that I ordered for his newborn pictures got here this past week. His personalized hat and outfit got shipped yesterday, and big sister/little brother matching outfits that I ordered should be arriving soon too. Hopefully they all make it before his arrival. Now it's time for me to pack our hospital bags since I didn't get around to that with Kinley!

While I'm not too nervous (yet anyways) about the birth this time around, I think I'm more nervous about how Kinley is going to feel and react to having a new baby brother around. I think she thinks his room is her baby doll's room. She currently has one of her babies in his car seat, and she puts babies to sleep with pacis and blankets in his crib. If I try to put them up, she gets mad and takes them back to his room. I think she's going to have a rude awakening when there's a real baby and he doesn't end up leaving. We had a couple with a one year old stay the night with us yesterday. We actually kept the one year old for a while when his mom and dad went to dinner. Besides not wanting to share all the time, she did pretty good with him for the most part. I will admit it was weird changing a little boy diaper. That and the whole having to take care of a circumcision this time around is going to be a whole new ball game. Colt and I were talking last night about how it would be to have a boy and how different it might be from having a girl, particularly Kinley. We were talking about how fun her personality was and he said, well, we definitely won't have another Kinley... She's a ton of fun. We both know that he will be too, but I'm interested to see how alike and different they are and become as they get older.

Third Trimester Pregnancy Pics - Weeks 27 through 33

These are my third trimester pregnancy pics from weeks 27-33. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow. I just had my 34 week appointment on Thursday so I'll get that picture up in a separate post when I get the pic uploaded to my computer.

Previous posts that I've made related to my third trimester are here:

29 weeks
Kinley was dressed up to go sing Christmas carols at the nursing home.
30 weeks was the week we were all sick at our house. I skipped taking a picture that week.

Here's a look back at week 31 with Kinley.
If you actually looked back and see the dress that I'm wearing at 31 weeks with Kinley. I definitely couldn't fit in that dress this time around with Cutler!

31 weeks
Here's a look back at week 32 with Kinley.
Here'a look back at week 33 with Kinley.
32/33 weeks
I took these late again. I was actually 32.5 weeks pregnant so they'll serve for both my 32 and 33 week pictures. I turned 33 weeks on Christmas Eve when we were out of town. By the time we made it back home, I didn't take a late 33 week picture.
Definitely looking and feeling super pregnant!
